It sounds as though it was being used with Sync Lock off. Indeed, that will cause a lot of non-periodic transients to be generated at the switching points between the two DNA oscillators

Re: FSS OSC2 Recombination Engine - Triple analogue VCO
Hello! Many thanks for all the kind words - the OSC2 has definitely kept us busy throughout lockdown, and there's more to come too ;) Franktree - did you place an order with us? If so, do send us an email and we'll chase it up. It seems that many of our US orders (if that's where you're based?) have...

Hi all! First off, huge thanks to all that have shown an interest in what we do - it's very humbling! Due to a recent distribution deal, our modules are returning to US stores after a long hiatus. We believe it was mainly customs charges that slowed down our US orders for that time, but having distr...

Nice ! Thank you :) I see you sell either the PCB alone or the full kit on Thonk : is there any special / rare parts, or are all the component easy to source ? [edit : easy to check by myself, the BOM os here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1w346nsAk-6D1RA0EcUY9yLVpzNP4Murzi6H-miE2kYE/edit...

is there a "shaffer" ready frontpanel like you did with Brusnwick? I love that on my Brun and would like a similar panel for Portland... Thonk will have a Eurorack front panel for Portland very very soon. You can use Euro power with the Battery Simulator too so it’s a fully Eurorackable thing: http...

So I assembled mine but due to some error on my part I'm having a lot of noise coming coming out of the HH output/ring noise bleeding through certain areas. After going back over the board several times I'm no closer to squashing it. Also not sure whether the other parts are functioning normally. T...

Here's also a quick text run-down of all the input and output functionality: BD In: Input to the bass drum resonator. Note that, for normal bass drum behaviour, this circuit expects either a trigger signal or a decaying envelope. This is why Decay 1 is normalled to this input. BD Out: Audio output o...

We have some important news regarding STUMM! Firstly, as per Daniel’s suggestion, the switches now work in an inverse manner as to how they did originally. This means that audio passes through a channel when the toggle switch is up (LED on) and is muted when the toggle switch is centred (LED off). T...

I have connected a 9v wall transformer instead of the "right" battery (the one directly connected to the on/off switch) What should I do to power also the second battery compartment? looks like the + and - of the two batteries are shorted together...is this possible? thx We'd advise against it as i...

We've designed a full enclosure for the Brunswick which will be coming soon at Thonk - keep your eyes peeled! Any news on a date for the case and will the case be designed to enclose the battery simulator kit? Thonk have all the parts for the case, as well as the PCBs for the BattSim - it might be ...

We've designed a full enclosure for the Brunswick which will be coming soon at Thonk - keep your eyes peeled! Having just ordered my kit, should I wait to assemble (jack/knobs) until I am able to fit your new case to them? I wouldn't worry about waiting - all the cases we've fitted here have fit pe...

FSS / Mute - Future Sound Systems x Daniel Miller
Hello all! We are proud to announce our collaboration with Mute founder, Daniel Miller. We exhibited our first two modules at SuperBooth last week, STUMM and MAKROW . STUMM is a bank of six mute switches, with inner workings of six discrete VCAs and attack/release envelopes (ensuring click-less muti...

since there is a Euro plate, I assume the dimensions are different from the Brunswick? If there is more in this line can we expect it to be squeezed into 3u? don't give into the tyranny of 3u - give those fingers some room! The dimensions are indeed different - it's far wider and a bit less in the ...

how did it achieve it's name? does it ship out covered in broken glass and used needles? Not quite ;) The Brunswick came from the BEEF workshop carried out at The Brunswick Club (RIP) of Brunswick Square, here in Bristol. Portland Square neighbours Brunswick Square - both are kiiind of a case of dy...
