Re: [Project] Turing Machine Mk2

I just bought a secondhand DIY Turing Machine MK2 and I'm experiencing the same calibration issues (ie: the Trim Pot doesn't seem to do anything until nearly entirely CCW) and when I do get a clear tone from the Output during this point in calibration, the Lock knob doesn't seem to do anything. I ju...

It's been a while since I've posted and I surely wish it were under better circumstances. Mike had been a fixture of my life for the last (roughly) sixteen years. Mike and I first met over on KVRAudio.com, - I was a bedroom musician, living at home with my parents and dipping my toes into the VST wo...

Re: New SNAZZY FX videos, buying guide & discussion!

Chaos Brother : Two medium to fast LFO rate chaos signals, a slewed output for smoother CV, a CV/trigger input to "sync" it to an external clock and a chaotic gate output (really cool to add synced but off-beat drum triggers to a sequence for example). Needs a bit of practice to figure out. General...

I think the least appreciated feature of the Z-DSP is the CLOCK input. Hit that with a squarewave around 32khz and modulate the frequency of the wave and you can get some really gnarly stuff. It depends on what card, but you can get some really interesting sample-rate reduction type effects in addit...

Yes. Hopefully not permanently. It was a great resource. I just emailed their SERVER_ADMIN email address (clone45@gmail.com) asking about the Reference Pages. I really hope they'll still exist in a fashion. I'm just cleaning up code from last night and hope to get back into the gritty soon. Edit: t...

Is the Microbe Modular site down for anyone else? I just got a pair of these and I've started learning programming for them. I've just got a night in on "analog kick drum emulation" and I'd kill for those Module Reference pages.

Mine came today. I'm really impressed by it. The drum programs alone makes it exciting but the osc and equation programs sound great too. Looking into the code, this is a really creative module. It seems most of the programs are based around bytebeat - which I look at and go "that's bonkers." I kin...

I have a general question for the group here about these snake/bus modules in general - what use do you see these for? I think that they would be useful mainly for live rigs, allowing the inter-cabinet connections to be preset and one cable to connect things. Exactly. I have two systems that I ofte...

*bump* I just came across the product page for the Sinc Iter and with such a huge range ... has anyone tried it at video-rates in a video synthesis system? I believe the noise output is meant to be used as a random trigger source. Or more properly a random gate source. . I'm not sure but I think it changes when you use an external clock, just like the gate out gives fancy timing and triplets when using an external clock in. Foghorn According to the ma...

The noise out is the weakest aspect of the Nanorand and is only useable as an audio source. As a CV source its useless. Its just a random interval PWM[/img] wave. Its not even symmetrical. Mine just runs from 0 to -4 volts. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/754_img_1325_1.jpg Haha. Holy sh...

I will not be using the R/C connectors. Standard 10-pin power connectors only. The issue is whether the shrouded connectors will fit or if I have to use unshrouded. I prefer shrouded but may not get my way. Yeah - I think the choice of R/C is partially just to save space on the board because it's d...

However, one interesting fact about the Nano.... it's own noise output is not really very good as an input to the S+H, it just goes back and forth between two values, at least with the "magenta" algorithm. That seems... odd to me. You'd think that a noise source (which is just a huge spectrum of ra...
