Re: Cosmotronic Thru Zero Complex Oscillator - Teaser
Awesome looking oscillator, can't wait to check out more demos. My vote for name is "Palindrone"... By far my favorite of the ones that've been suggested. But whatever you decide, I recommend you say the names aloud a few times before settling on one. Some of them look nice on paper but would be dow...

Re: Re:
Also, in worst case impedance mismatch could damage the source. When you connect a very low impedance it draws much current from the source which leads to damage. So I don't think the impedance matching it's an old fashion vacuum world thing. Look at the difference in transistor amplifiers - they v...

Re: Mystic Circuits Portal - limited edition Black Panel units
I think it's great that you do black and gold panels for those who want them, but for me, there's nothing more beautiful than the standard silver panel with those pale purple knobs. How about a super-special edition that applies that holographic effect (on the border) to the silver aluminum p...

Re: Eurorack shops
Joe and Midwest Modular are great! I asked him about a module MM had for sale on Reverb once, to see if they had the older, hard-to-find version of it by some miracle. They didn't have it new, of course, but Joe had one and offered to sell it to me from his private collection. He gave me a great pri...

Re: Oopsy = Electrosmith Daisy via Max/MSP gen~
This is surely going to be an amazing platform for DaisyPatch owners to use. Sorry for a noobish question, but will this ever be usable on other Daisy-core devices, like the Qu-Bit Surface?

Re: Seeking oddish timbres
So, is the sound of the Recombination Engine just not doing anything for you? I have to say, it seems like you have a mountain of untapped potential in the modules you already own. Perhaps if you posted a link to your entire rack, people might be able to give you other creative patching ideas to add...

Re: Tiptop Mantis cases
Why?! In a smokers home you mean? Or over an extraordinarily long period of time?! I’ve got white plastic items have had for years and they’ve never discoloured. A kettle for example. Had that for ages and it’s as white as snow. Some other cheaper things, such as a white lamp I bought from IKEA, tu...

Definitely Sunsyn for me, by 100 miles. I wish Jomox would reissue them so I could dream of owning one at a reasonable price one day.

I think most people probably wouldn't argue against a BaTWOmi that combines the expansion functionality and makes expert mode fully accessible on the front panel.

Re: Modules that need an expander to be really top class
Circuit Abbey ADSR Jr. comes to mind. The expander adds just about every bit of functionality I can think most people would ever care to have, in an overall package that still comes in at 8hp.

Re: Tiptop Mantis cases
Anyway, can anyone who is using 2 Mantises bracketed together into a 12U comment on the ergonomics of it? Does it seem alright fixed into that one position? Aside from the annoyance of needing 2 barrel-socketed bricks to power a system, my biggest concern with that setup is losing the ability to adj...

Um, just so you know... a white case would discolor just as bad as grey over time, if not worse.Faastwalker wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 1:53 pmI thought they were white. But when mine arrived (bought new) it was more greyish! It’s fine but a bit concerning to think it might discolour over time![]()

Re: Anyone with less than 7u 104hp?
I have 6U 104 (Mantis), and it's only partially by choice. By that, I mean it was the only affordable case that offered the space I knew I'd need (at minimum) and made sense on my budget. I wish TipTop would make a 9U or maybe 10U "Mantis XL" so I could upgrade in that way as I don't like the soluti...

Re: Intruo Modules Free on VCV Rack
it's really cool they released these for free. i wonder if there will ever be a vcv arbhar. If anything, that would make more sense than the analogue modules. Not sure how a digital approximation of Cs-L, Tš-L, or I-ō47 will really be the same thing, but I fully agree that this is super cool of Ins...

Re: Taakab dual LPG normalisation hack
I'm confused... How does normalization on this module make it capable of "stereo ping-pong"?
When I opened the thread I thought the point would be to give a single input source a longer decay time by chaining 2 LPGs together... Is that not how it works?

Since I can't really figure what this thread is supposed to be about (agree with others who don't see any particularly "grungy" trend on MG), I'm going to use this thread to state on the record that I hate black and gold panels. Silver aluminum + colorful panels are great. Black with white lettering...
