Re: PikoPiko Factory Prophet-Mini

I can't wait for 2060 when the three voice Prophet5s will be released. Forty years to lose each voice. In 2180 the silent Prophet 5 arrives and it's so small you can't even see it.

Re: Korg ARP 2600 availability

It sounds like the RCA cable going into the reverb might have come off if you can hear rattling output. I’ll probably ping Korg. I know the last thing I want to do is ship it around though. As an aside, how immediate is the reverb supposed to be on this? I’m expecting it normaled to the mixer output...

Re: Korg PS-3200 + panharmonium (many possibilities for drones)

I have often wondered how much pitch deviation is available on each note of a PE-1000. Anyone tried it?

Re: Korg PS-3200 + panharmonium (many possibilities for drones)

Excellent! I have been meaning to get around to some tuning experiments on my PS-3100, but haven't yet found the time. This will help push it closer to the top of my todo list.

Re: Headphones 2019 ugh “monitor quality” LOL

I recently bought a pair. I find them excellent at giving an unflattering picture of your mixes. As a result, I have been a able to quickly improve my recent mixes, and those improvements have been reflected in other listening environments. I was hesitant to spend that much money on a set of headpho...

Re: cv ocd

Actually the Roland UM has it's MIDI cables labeled the reverse of how most do it. The In cable should be attached to the in port and the out cable to the out port. They are marked as To In and To Out. This screwed me up at first when connecting to my Continuum.

Re: The Definitive Sequential Prophet VS resource thread

I changed my post to reflect this...I still stand by my assertion that the two sound nothing alike being a longtime user of both. There are filters on the Wavestation - 1 per voice, albeit they operate in the digital domain. They are non-resonant filters, although (from memory) a kind of resonance c...

Re: The Definitive Sequential Prophet VS resource thread

There are no analog filters on the Wavestation. The VS's analog filter gives it a sound not available in the Wavestation. (Edited for clarity in response to next post)

Re: Studio PC Build Guide

I would suggest checking how many cores your DAW is actually using in a large session. As has been said, not all DAWS are efficiently multicore capable and there are aspects of audio production that are serial in nature and work against parallelism. That will give you a better idea of what CPU to ch...

Re: What do you think of ROLI Rise 49?

I love the Roli 49, but it is not a keyboard. So, muscle memory is of little use. I find it is great for certain types of flowing melodic lines and legato section parts, but it will require a lot of time to be able to play faster parts on it accurately. Of the MPE devices, I think of it as the middl...

Congrats on your VS! I have a spare Leimseider 5530 that I can photograph & post here. I believe the design uses other hard to source components, though.

Thanks for posting all this-excellent resource!

If you get the Linnstrument, this Kontakt library is pretty remarkable in it's authenticity:

Re: Websites fixing out of stock pricing

I think this is a common bait & switch tactic in the days of web searching. You search for a product, go to the store with the lowest price...it's not in stock. The hope is that once at the webstore, you buy something else. It is a way to essentially get to the top of web searches for similar produc...
