Got lots of great memories of working with Gabi & Saba during their Delkom period. Gabi was always generous with his time. One of titans, a true gent

I started my MOTM format modular in October 1999 and ordered my first Oakley boards a couple of months later. Somewhere there's a photo of my first Mididac housed in a biscuit tin lid. I'm not sad to see MOTM as a format fall by the wayside in favour of MU - it's just evolution. And as Tony has allu...

par example: the test&measurement studio offer a range of extended techniques for sound synthesis and processing, like the EG&G PAR instruments: I can see a Model 175 in there (basically a four step sequencer, looping/one shot EG) - love mine and of course it never gets enough use... https://www.mu...

I was given six months to live over three years ago for a stage 4 (very aggressive) incurable brain tumour - it's never going away (unless my head falls off), but hey ho. There are generally multiple lines of defence, so what worked last time may work again, failing that move to the next line (a dif...

I thought about building one some time ago... I don't think it's the right path for me. Doepfer A-198 seams to be the way to go. Thx for the advices. Yep, the softpot is a different/inferior beast to a proper ribbon, and I have to use a pedal interface (MOTM850 in my case), but it's a fun thing to ...

thats a great point chroma! I guess I'm looking to record all kinds of sounds - speech, short sounds, ambience. It's pretty important that the recording device is cheap and portable, but I don't really care if it captures the sounds "accurately" as long as it has character so you're looking for lo-...

Kudos to you Dave. I was in a similar situation a few years ago except with a company I helped found and became de facto COO of. We were acquired and the new owners just drained the passion from the whole enterprise. So I took that leap... My advice: 1) Make sure you get your sums right 2) Make sure...

There is another side to this. I agree with you, but if I was producing worthy material that deserves a proper label and I wanted it to be my career I would consider some of these services to rise up above the significant noise. How else would anyone but my small circle of friends know about me. Bu...

Having no plays/interest doesn't feel great but I can only imagine how bad it must feel to spend £££ on fake likes/plays, while knowing yourself that you have no legit plays. And as member Lisa says you probably still won't get any industry interest anyway. Wow, that must be a feeling of absolute c...

I went to Amsterdam Dance Event University last year and was at this ted talk about releasing music etc. Some A&R people from online labels were talking and it was utterly depressing really. Indeed, they do look at your plays, just to check you are a feasible assett for them to put time/effort in.....

You can buy Soundcloud plays I don't use Soundcloud but I cannot think of a more damning indictment of our somewhat pathetic times than this :waah: It's always gone on since day one. I used to know one or two pretty influential UK pluggers from the 60's (***) and they used fair means or foul to rig...

Even if you've released stuff successfully before through a third party label, there's almost inevitably a point where the whole process gets downgraded to a hobby - in which case BandCamp is a good place to start, and scale things up from there (I'm glad to see Controlled Bleeding still out there b...

Re: Gibson returns Oberheim brand to Tom Oberheim
Given Gibson's recent restructuring, the cynic in me thinks they just simply didn't need the IP and therefore the cost of defending it if/when Behringer pop up with their cloneLicudi wrote:So... just a decent gesture on Gibson's part? Or another new beginning for Tom Oberheim?
