Re: 16n faderbank

Would anyone be interested in a set of wood panels for a 16n? I bought my 16n from Michigan Synth Works with the cherry panels, but decided I didn't like them and bought black aluminum ones later. Now I have the wood panels just sitting around. They look like this (picture from Michigan Synth Works,...

Quick Digitakt question for which I did not feel like starting a new thread: I have an idea to use my 16n to control the level of different looping samples on the Digitakt. The only problem is that I am having a hard time interpreting the Digitakt manual. If I want to set up the first 8 sliders on ...

I was getting lost with modular but I've streamlined my rack to do what for me it does best, soundscapes and slow evolving drones. I was getting too lost trying to recreate something I can eaasily do with a synth and a sequencer. I came here to pretty much post this I built up to a fairly large eur...

Not with the firmware that was written for it so far. It's open source... but since there are no LEDs or buttons on it, and no other inputs aside from (potentially) MIDI or i2c, it's really not very well suited to recording or playback of slider movement. Admittedly I'm not a dev, but I'll respectf...

Just want to say, I bought my Peak used and it didn't come with all the codes I needed the register it. I reached out to Novation with no issues and received everything I needed to register it in less than 24 hours. I then had multiple issues with the update procedure, which Novation helped me work ...

This seems INSANE? What if people don't have accounts on those networks? Why would they be precluded from getting updates? Pretty sure that was presented as an alternative to registering. You can still register and use a standalone thingy. There's also the literal next line that states they will se...

Great! Btw it’s likely the effects can be affected like this along with the seq and arp because some of the effects rely on clock for tempo sync. Yeah that makes sense for the delay, chorus, and reverb, but not so much the distortion since it isn't time-based and is supposed to be all analogue. Oh ...

That did it! It was on auto/ext and the status was "FLY .0 BPM". As soon as I changed it to auto, status changed to internal clock and everything works!

What a weird glitch. Thanks for all the help!

Sounds like midi clock source is set to external/slave, and it doesn't fall back on internal when nothing is coming in? i.e. the clock is stopped. This definitely sounds possible! I'll have to check these settings next time I turn it on. Especially because I just found a patch using the arpeggiator...

New development: It turns out that if I run a MIDI sequence into the Peak, the effects magically start working So if I turn it on and use the audition button, the effects don't work. If I plug in my Keystep or DX7 to use as a MIDI keyboard, the effects don't work But, if I play a MIDI sequence from ...

Mr November, what computer OS were you using to do the firmware update, Mac or PC? PC. And the cable I used was the one that came with my Digitakt. No idea if it has a ferrite core. Also, I ran the calibration again and it completed successfully. Unfortunately, the effects still don't seem to work....

Thanks for the tips! I managed to get it updated and registered after submitting a ticket to Novation. So the firmware update didn't go smoothly. It seems that most of my Peak no longer works. Trying to update the firmware on a Peak that I have recently received in a trade. I go through the entire process and get a pop-up that states "Updating Firmware: this may take some time" and there's a progress bar underneath. But nothing happens. The progress bar doesn't move. It has been like that...

I recently stumbled over this unit and am quite interested in it but there's one thing I don't understand: Neither the delay nor the reverb seem to have a dry/wet blend control. Are these effects only outputting the wet signal? Wet only, which is a bit of a pain as I always end up using a second in...

Well that gives me some hope that I might actually get it sometime soon. That would be a nice surprise to find waiting for me after work one day.
