Re: Static Electricity

I was having the same issue but for my hi fi system. Shocks were temporarily muting my headphones and a few times caused the TV to go black for a moment. The main culprit was the rug but the cotton socks/footwear tip is a good one.

Increasing the humidity in your home is another.

I have both. Each do (obviously) different things. I don’t care for the Curtis filter so I often run it through the 37. The Rev 2 feels beautiful and is pretty capable of a wide range of sounds. The Moog tends to have a similar aesthetic to what it spits out (to my ears) but can also do a wide range...

Also have a Zoom H5. It’s pretty capable for the small size. If you’re field recording or needing line inputs, it’s not failed in either respect for me.

Just make sure you get a windscreen for the stock mix; it’s super sensitive to air pressure.

I’ve always liked the idea of moving over to Linux but in practice it’s not worked out so well. I’m down to using a handful of plugins which are mostly supported in Linux now.

Thanks for the info in the first post. Maybe I’ll try it again.

Voted OB. You could cover Moog sounds (mono) easily and more cheaply with another device. If you struggle with 4 keys just overdub in the DAW.

Well I think I got it sorted out. In case anyone has the same console, these concentric knobs on the channels is what I was doing wrong. They each send to a separate aux jack so I was only getting mono out when I was trying this yesterday. Seems like I'm able to now get a stereo signal running throu...

As space becomes more and more of an issue, I kind of like that they’re making these in small metal form factors. Kind of crazy to see these.

Tips for Mono/Stereo FX Chain Routing w Analog Mixer

Hoping some wigglers out there have some tips to share. I recently got a hardware mono channel strip (Joe Meek VC1Q) so I’m new to this aspect of integrating it into my chain so looking for some advice. How are you managing stereo and mono sources into stereo/mono FX/pedals? Should stereo generally ...

Other than Bitwig’s modulation abilities, what else are you finding deficient with Live? I’ve never quite got on with Ableton but grabbed a Push 1 for a steal and tried it again and it’s better...

Reaper has some clip launchers you could look into.

Here’s one of them:

I know you’re saying you want to stay away from pedals, but considering you’re bringing up Eventide, it might be worth looking into the H9? You can adjust input (and apparently output gain) separately, select type source input guitar/bass/synth. It has Bluetooth control via app or PC/Mac software vi...

Never thought about this before but it seems like Eventide stopmboxes can be used as a (stereo) reamper (or DI-box) since the inputs as well as the outputs can be switched to either instrument or line level and amp or line lvl respectively and also have the option of either DSP bypass and true/rela...

The main benefits for releasing on cassette for me are: 1. Affordable to produce. Pressing vinyl is expensive and so is shipping it. 2. It’s a physical product that is fun to design/release on. I prefer to have a physical copy of something even if I’m using mostly the digital version. We always put ...

Really like the sound of these.

I started on KRKs in the early 2Ks. The Yamaha are a step above. You could maybe find a pair of Focal Alphas for around that on the used market.

I have the Shapes and they’re amazing monitors.

I’ve been using Reaper for many years. Just last month I tried Ableton again as I never seemed to click with it. There was a Push for sale locally that was so cheap I couldn’t lose. I have a REV2 and a 37. The DSI is a nice synth. The keybed feels great. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the filter so I often run it through the 37’s audio in.

Considering you have Moog already, I’d suggest the DSI unless you want the patch points.
