Re: Eagle Files - VCO, Filters, Touch, and SeqSw

Hi Alan P Thanks for replying - I explained the cutouts to JLPCB and the result is fine. Think was glitch at their end and they were happy to sort it out. I do have some questions on the Buchla 258 VCO: 1. There are some resistor values that I am having difficulty working out. (R26, R25, R33, R34, R...

Re: Percussive noise module build

Hi dylski Thank you for sharing your mod's to the percussive voice. I really enjoyed the video - I like your technique of sticking parts to the schematic with tape. I like to stick the parts onto the list of parts with masking tape! I am amazed that you managed to build the module without any circui...

Re: Eagle Files - VCO, Filters, Touch, and SeqSw

I sent gerbers off to JLCPCB Maybe because my version of Eagle (7.5.5) is bit old but I had some issues with the panels. I ran the excellon drill thing to generate the gerber drill files. Anyway the problem is that the gerbers didn't seem to show actual cutouts (i.e. holes) for the panel controls. L...

Re: Eagle Files - VCO, Filters, Touch, and SeqSw

I want to mod the Korg 35/MS10 VCF to configure as an HPF. Is similar but not the same as the MS20 VCF (where an HPF input can be added by switching jack inserted between the 1nf cap [C6 on Rene Schmidt version] and ground). Assuming pin 7 of the K35 is equivalent to the MS20 Schematics OTA output m...

For anyone interested this is the original touch controller article by Arpad Benares (see AlanP's panel) from Synapse Magazine.

Re: Eagle Files - VCO, Filters, Touch, and SeqSw

Thank you for the reply Alan P

Erthenvar jacks is fine - I can get some.

I suspected that it was just the capacitative touch pads. That is so amazingly excellent.

Re: Eagle Files - VCO, Filters, Touch, and SeqSw

Re: Touch -

A couple of questions:

- Can you please confirm the type of jack socket your footprint is for. If easier just post a picture.

- Does the panel need piezo discs soldered on?

Thank you again so much AlanP you rock!

Re: NLC Sloth Chaos DIY eurorack - 1st build help wanted

Hi 1. Have you decided what speed you want to build? Either Stasis etc.. 2. Do you have the parts? It is easiest to find a "Mouser Bom" = someone has probably made a list you can directly import into your onlinen shopping cart of the components supplier Mouser. This is easy but not the very cheapest...

Re: Clock multiplier suggestions

There is a simple circuit which you can build very easily with 7486 IC powered on +5v clock doubler.jpg I got my 7486 ic from cricklewood electronics for £3 The circuit is from Delton Horn's book on synth circuits. Good idea to put a schmidt trigger on the input to clean up the wave and if I am not ...

Re: The Hypster Hyperchaos generator with VC

Hi dooj88 thanks for the comment I am still interested and think I will go for it! Ian  - I do have a Chaotica & not put off by idea of rapid changes. Would like flexibility of Option 2 - but without having the Hypster yet it is academic. I will contact Andrew and take the plunge! Looking at ...

Re: The Hypster Hyperchaos generator with VC

Ian Fritz designs great synth circuits. I am going to order a pcb/panel from AndrewF and get onto the Hypster party, fashionably late. I would like to install the "Option 2" (as shown at the bottom of Part 2 of Ian Fritz's schematic) for smooth variation between "fat and thin" rather than switching ...

Re: Beginners synth diy

Yes I did buy one of those bare board super cheap component testers and it is really good - works with many transistors (confirms the pin out of the legs too), resistors, capacitors and diodes I've tried. Definitely a really useful bit of kit. Btw I am going to use your idea of using two wires for q...

Re: Beginners synth diy

Great to see that you have built your first module, the 4ms mult. Good choice and if you can do that you have many possibilities. (Obvious I know but you can check it by plugging patch cables into it and testing continuity by touching the corresponding tips with your dmm leads). Get a dmm if you don...

Re: just bought a sick Kork Polysix

There are replacement pcb's available and also there is the kiwisix upgrade replacement. Kiwi recommend also changing the psu

Haven't tried either of these but been looking at a Polysix. Look forward to hearing about how your project goes. Best of luck.

Re: Internal wiring mod?

If you are planning to solder connections to the 138S sockets and then also plug input signals into those sockets, it is not advisable. Read the following thread about "stacking" inputs: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1718024 From the thread:- Outputs are low impedance and must on...
