Re: Intellijel Plonk

Yes, push the MOD button and change the mod destination to "Pst" or "Preset Step" (just before "Randomize"). There you can set the first preset and the last preset.

Re: Intellijel Plonk

That is a mistake in the manual, Plonk only responds to positive pitch voltages.

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

Sadly we did not put an I2C connector on the scales, I wish we had, could have done some fun things

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

So for an undivided / multiplied clock you could reset on each incoming gate easily enough. For divided rates, you would need to count clock pulses with a clock divider. For multiplied, I guess you would also reset on every actual clock pulse? What about when the time division / multiplication is be...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

It's not really a bug, just something that has not been implemented yet because so far I have not found a suitable solution. I have an internal version where phase sync is established when the envelopes are linked, but an issue is that the LFOs can all run at different clock divisions and the clock ...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

For sharpest rise and fall you'll want to switch it into the alternate mode that creates a "spike" as opposed to the default mode which is more like a "wave"

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Great to hear, sorry for the hassle! We had an obscure glitch in one firmware revision that could sometimes scramble the mod assignments after calibration and a small shipment of modules got out before we caught it and fixed it. Looks like you were one of the few who actually ran into the problem.

You can still run it. Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy, and select "Allow apps downloaded from: App Store and identified developers". You either option-right click on the app and select run, or go back into the Security & Privacy dialog and click Allow to the prompt that will appear in...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Only the time based parameters track 1v/octave. Rise, fall, and LFO rate. The other parameters are scaled such that 0 is minimum and 5V is maximum. Although I think for curve you may be able to push it beyond the knob range, I can’t remember.

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

By CV-in response do you mean the knob response? the CV is just 1v / octave, so the time doubles for every 1V of CV.

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Yes that's because the exponential curve of the pot response is more than the equivalent of 1v/octave. I think in one of the original prototypes we used to map CV to the knob response curve directly. While it does help cover more range of the pot, other problems arise. For example if you have the po...

Re: intellijel Rainmaker

For me personally it's like any complex effects processor, such as ones from Eventide or a lot of more involved VST effects: I set aside some time to just experiment with making patches / presets until I get one that achieves a specific goal, or just produces a cool effect. Then I save those and set...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Keep in mind with the latest firmware you change the behaviour of the curve by long-holding the envelope button when you have AR or ASR mode selected. In the alternate mode the rise and fall are more like a mirrored curve of each other rather than what's pictured on the panel.

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

No, the Quadra doesn't use I2C as it's purely analog. The amount of modification required to make a Qx output a Quadra's EOR/EOC pulses or to control the rise / fall would be more trouble and expense than just making an expander from scratch.

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Yes, keeping the envelope times the same while being able to adjust the curve was definitely one of the major design goals. Glad you noticed :)

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

You need to upgrade the firmware for Tete and Tetrapad separately. The older Tetrapads used the mini-B, newer production runs have micro-B if I am not mistaken.

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

I would think that a more powerful expander would be one that adds more CV inputs, in the style of Quadra's expander. I think I'd prefer that to EOR and EOC triggers. I wonder if it's possible down the line. The I2C port on the Quadrax is fairly generic so can allow it to communicate with a variety...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

The rise and fall times track 1V/octave and don't correspond to the range of the panel control. When at audio rate, this is neat, but other times I wonder how I’m supposed to condition the input CV to get it to be like “a little wiggle around the knob location” Use the attenuation in the mod matrix...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

How wide are the triggers? Currently you will need 1ms or longer for reliable triggering.
