Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

Yeah, it’s another option. Just be ideal to use external CV for Lin AM sound design and level CV for overall volume.

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

Thanks for the reply Sam. Yes, use the Lin AM at the moment but means then I can’t use it for other trigger/gate/time-based modulation which is extremely useful. Is CV control of the level control impossible? Understood re the processing power limitations on the filter. Re level control of the monit...

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

Great, cheers. Sorry, one more - as the case is three pin and ES9 four - what’s the correct way to connect?

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

Here's a new beta. This is quite a big deal. I've ripped out all the library code I was using for the mixer, and replaced it with my own from-scratch code - which means I'm much more in control and can do unconventional stuff. Like for instance - adding controls for DC offsets. There's a new set of...

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

Brilliant :) That’s just made my life much easier and freed up loads of VCAs and my FH2! While controlling the level to the DAW, can you simultaneously have the internal output of each input routed to an ES9 under another MIDI control to essentially use it as a send back to the modular? Thanks for t...

Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

Love the channel level control, just got a couple of questions: Can the individual channel levels into the DAW be controlled? So I can do a multitrack mix and have the level/pan of each recorded as I played it? An a basic one.. what cable best to go from the Intellijel 7U (three pin) MIDI in to the ...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

So much love for this module, pushing it to ask for a few feature requests Sam? CV level control of the individual channel levels - exactly the same functionality as the new mix output level control, only on the separate channel’s level pages. Reason being - so I can multitrack record/play live out ...

Re: New Happy Nerding FM AID module I think many will like!

Just received one - stuck it a pod with an Atlantis and dual ADSR.... my days, what a fantastic module. Took me long enough to pick one up - should have done it ages ago - can see it being one of my real go-tos.

Highly recommended for anyone on the fence! Nicely done @igorrr 👍

Re: What are some cool drum modules?

Folktek Matter 2, great source of non-standard perc. Great into an LPG etc Or sound source of your choice into a Natural Gate. Dual-osc or similar works well, send a trig/gate to both NG channels, use one to process the audio and the other with no input to send a env back the osc to modulate the pit...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

I'm wondering how you are controlling the Assimil8or? The sequencer needs to have at least 8 pairs of gates, couple of stepped modulation outputs and ideally able to to do steps at least 128 long for triggering very long drone samples. Is nerdseq the answer? I've got Vector without the expander and...

+1 on FX Aid it’s an amazing FX unit, will fit your HP requirements, give you reverbs that are are close to Strymon or Eventide and a bunch more.

Only challenge is finding them! Analog Haven had them last I checked
Signal Sounds UK got some. Great shop if you don’t mind shipping internationally.

Considered the Abstract Data Octocontroller? Eight configurable outputs inc LFOs - really like mine in comparison to the other two. Bit bigger tho.

Re: What can a module give you that no DAW can?

It just a different experience and down to personal preference. I use and love both, whatever works for you and gets your music done. Generally modular is my main sound source and the DAW is used for arranging/editing but sometimes different processes. Having a range of options and switching their r...

Re: Single Manufacturer Eurorack Systems

I was drawn to modular for the ability to create a system that suits precisely what I’m trying to achieve but can understand companies putting together complete systems when they have the modules for it to make sense (or people doing it themselves). I see these in a similar way to a lot of semi-modu...

Re: ES9

In Ableton, make sure you have your recorded audio tracks on different channels to the channels you’re monitoring the live modular audio input. For example, channel 1 playing back recording, channel 2 (with no audio file) set to monitor in.
