That Waveform Animator was an “on-the-fence” purchase that has yielded some CRUSHING sounds. Absolute drone monster; every power electronics group needs one. I made the mistake of thinking Ladik was a “Sam’s Choice” version of Eurorack to the “name brands” of the other builders. I’m glad I didn’t le...

This guy sells extra "fingers" to be used for occassions like this. Authentic as hell looking, but I do question the build quality as they don't last very long.

I heard he ran into some legal issues, though.

The worst complex oscillator is my work computer. The fan and/or the hard drive make these mid-ranged drones that beat against each other very slowly, but it doesn't respond to CV inputs. http://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/1120officespace.gif I know you said worst oscs; but the Siemens MRI Scanner...

I bought a Dixie V1 and the rack rash was so bad that it was difficult to put a screw through the hole, due to the metal filings bending into it.

I was so stoked to get a V1 Dixie that I really didn't care.

After you watch that one, watch the one where he takes apart the horrible stereo system; he can't handle how shitty it is, and it's totally hilarious.

To me, a power cable is part of the module. It's sort of like USB peripherals for a computer; they usually come with at least a short USB cable so you can use your device straight away. If you manufacture the module, you need to include the power cable. It's just good business. If you are selling a ...

IIRC dofkev had one and had terrible bleed on it.
Have heard similar stories of channel bleed, not necessarily noise.

This has been an amazing installation piece; wish I could have been to more events, but the shackles of work rule my life. Kevin mentioned how it is basically impossible to document for obvious reasons, but what amazed me is how the presence of people affect how the Octarrarium reacts. They took alo...

I know several people who swear by the Doepfer 149-1 and I don't know of anyone using the -2. Try the 149. If you use it and feel cheated, pick up the -2 and see how that hits ya.

REALLY impressed with my Ladik modules so far; will be sure to buy more. Already upset that I didn't buy the swticher; would work well for cut up harsh noise. Also really enjoy that 4hp oscillator. Makes me far less sad about the fact that I'll probably never find an Intellijel Dixie. Quick question...

Ah, that makes sense. I was thinking MS-20 or Pro-One, so I guess the Six-Trak isn't light years off. Even the Atrax Morgue stuff without vocals is some of the most tortured and uncomfortable music you'll ever want to hear. His tapes are fantastic, but oddly the Relapse "Sickness Report" release is ...

TC Electronics HOF. Not less than $50, but sounds great for the price, and very very small.

Best reverb for less than $50 is a speaker at the end of a drainage ditch pipe.

I've read interviews where Karmanik explains his music is based on drum machines and bass guitar feedback, with vocals and samples. Live, he has a bass guitar player and a "sampler". Using no-input feedback and mics, I can see how Innerwar is possible with those tools he mentioned. Keep in mind, he ...

Just to test the quality of the delay, (since, for me, it's more difficult to determine the quality using synthesized sounds) I ran my guitar through a Doepfer interface, and into the Sputnik with a similar patch to what Kevin/dofkev and others are using above. I was surprised at how warm and musica...

I'd like to see a nice and clean 4HP micro multitap Digital Delay module that people get pissed about because it's too small, that they then change to a 6HP in version 2.

Mine works totally fine with my iPad mini. Gain knob at around 12 o'clock so i dont get clipping. 8_) I was actually able to input a totally passive contact mic'd device directly; and while not at all loud (and admittedly not too useful), it was audible. Have had no problems with directly inputting...
