Now that it’s been repeatedly demonstrated reverb is not “banning” anything but rather responding to specific posts brought to their attention can someone change the title of this thread to indicate a more accurate (and less dramatic) example of the events?

For me the question is - what's the deal with presets memory. This is essential information I think. WHAT is needed or used for the 208c preset system? A 200e v3.x? A new piece of hardware yet to be delivered? Software? (If so does it only run on iOS or android or PC/Mac?). The easel preset card wa...

Steve Miller

The Washington Post has a good article on Steve Miller today. He was part of the team that put together the current show at the Met with iconic instruments and memorabilia. Then there is this little gem: A few minutes later, Miller walks into the “Expanding the Band” gallery and stops in front of a ...

Re: Roland new products launch yawn!!

Before piling on Roland (" how dare they offer another boutique with 4 voices max ? "), did it occur to anybody that maybe, just maybe, the ACB technology presently does not allow for more than 4 voices ? Don’t the full size aria keyboards have more than four voices? And the daisy chain allows for ...

Re: Morton Subotnick on funding the Buchla

That does sound negative. I took away something very different. He wasn’t humble bragging that people knew him, they did. He also pointed out he wasn’t famous, he simply was known in the small academic circle the people who hand out the grants live in. That how he was able to even talk to them. And ...

The ER1 is still the wolf’s balls. Nothing I’ve used sounds quite like it or is the same way to use. So simple, yet so powerful. I love that they didn’t put another lame resonant filter in and instead went with a crazy LFO modulation section. It can do all sorts of freakish circuit bent sounds, basi...

Since this is in a synth noise category I’ll mention I’ve used my voyager RME to great effect live for dark ambient and noise. It literally rattles the rafters when put into a decent PA so I’m not sure where the “no low end/bass” thoughts are coming from. For me it’s versatility is also in those vio...

Can’t speak to JMM recordings but thinking “crow” in my head, I made this from scratch in IVCS3 this AM. ymmv but it’s got the basics: ring modded OSC 1+2 into light filter and then envelope for fall. Slightly modulating vco2 and the filter. Decay setting and speed/amount of vco3 (as LFO) is very im...

Disclaimer: I'm in the US so ordering from UK or Europe is cost prohibitive. I have never seen a "bugbrand" banana cable so can't speak to compare them but certainly would buy from Bugbrand for a few cents more if I could. I looked a while on Amazon.com (US site) and found a 5 pack of color banana c...

Re: Anybody here prefer semi-modular to modular?

They’re different beasts to me. A semi modular is like a flexible monosynth. The MS20 is just brilliant as is. Patch it up a bit and you get more (especially with the external in and mod routings). I turn to an Arp Ody often as well as a Moog Rack mount voyager but have used a patched Ody and 2600 a...

The Phenol really is it’s own beast. Far and heads above something like the OCoast IMO. Both a great banana starter system (Again, more functional and similarly packed like an Animal or basic Serge panel) and a perfect base or add on for existing banana system. :nana: I started with. 2600 and Doepfe...

Kilpatrick Phenol Banana Jam (w/ Cat)

Not sure if this goes here but if it helps I picked up this beast as a more portable base system to augment my ModcanA. I thought I’d mostly use it for utility things like the two VCOs etc but honestly it seduced me right away with the complex envelopes and more esoteric pieces like the divider and ...

My understanding of this was that Roland US brought the suit, and that Roland Japan had little beef with Behringer over it. Roland Corporation BROUGHT the suit. Roland US joined. All of Roland had a legal beef. >Also that B agreed to change a few things and sold the pedals. That is exactly what Rol...

The first synth I ever played was an Arp Odysessy in Mr Terry’s 7th grade music class in the 70s. How cool was that teacher? I have an irrational hatred of certain gear, I can't explain it, but it's just there. Ibanez guitars. Saying you hate Ibanez guitars is like saying you Hate anything made by Roland. There are plenty of rompler and cheap P.O.S. pieces but there are decades of classics and astonishingly innovative be...
