Re: BugBrand "Easel"

I’m actually having way more fun with my maxed out 2Frame than I ever had with my easel. Although I do still use two 200e modules (206e for cv controlled panning and 222e for infrared control). For me, the 2Frame IS the BugBrand Easel. I find the DDSR/Penrose combo way more inspiring than an arpeggi...

Re: Quadrature Sine (2020)

Hi all. I can appreciate, conceptually, why it would be good to have sine waves 90° out of phase from each other, but I'm not sure I understand how to best use them in a patch. Could anyone give some basic examples? Or perhaps I'm overthinking this and it's just always good to have sine waves availa...

Yes, that is my experience as well. I've never measured the voltage out of the 251e, but when I set a "chromatic" scale (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc) and have the 261e CV offset knob at 4 o'clock, I get a well tuned chromatic scale. I wish the 251e had finer increments, like the 222e/223e, so micro-tunings ...

This is so great. It's about time someone offered a keyboard where the individual keys' voltages can be independently tuned, right on the keyboard itself. And some Thunder-like features, too, eh? Can't wait!

Hey Todd! Great video. Never thought of that! I do have a question about 1.1 volts being an octave. Wouldn't it be 1.2? Just as a higher note is 12 steps above it's lower octave? (If C3 is "0" then C4 would be "12".) Or do volts work differently than scale steps? I'm having a hard time wrapping my b...

Thanks, Leoespejo! The midi to the 259e is working fine, but there is no midi getting to the 281e or 292e. According to the manual, there should internal midi sent to those modules as well as to the 259e.

225e Internal MIDI bus

My 225e internal midi bus to the 281e & 292e doesn't seem to be working as described in the manual. External patching thru the E bus works fine, but nothing internal seems to be getting through to these modules. The 2 switches on the back of each unit are in their lower position. Do they need to be ...

Turns out recording at 96/24 actually sounds good. Just did a test recording 6 live mics, 4 going through external mic pre-s, and the K-Mix came through without a hitch. I have no use for the onboard dsp or recording to an iPad (yet), but am interested to see if it can be used as a midi controller a...

Satie played on Buchla Thunder

Yesterday was composer Erik Satie's 150th birthday. Here is a excerpt of a performance I did in 2006 of his piece from 1893, Vexations, performed on a Buchla Thunder controlling a Kontakt instrument I built of my own glass instruments. This used the location and pressure on Thunder's tactile keys to...

Thank you all for the thoughtful input and feedback. I do think I've decided on the original design using the 266. I am very fond of totally random sounds and the 261 with all the cv inputs allowed me to make a lot of noise with the 266e. Yes it is very limited but I tend to make relatively simple ...
