AHA moments

So I'm on a little WhatsApp group that shoots the shit about synth related stuff, and was extolling the virtues of my Bugbrand frames, when I had an 'aha' moment talking about the DDSR in relation to S&H and random(ish) pitch modulation. It occurred to me (and this may have already occurred to you -...

Re: Audioweevil08

I saw that as well when it originally popped up, and was sorely tempted to contact the seller and say "wtf". But you know, I seriously doubt folks who do stuff like this very often hit their target - it's pure speculation. Reverb is actually not a bad place for buying and selling though, in my exper...

Re: Knas Ekdahl Moisturizer!

Yeah, I think the Moisturizer is designed to be quite a snarling beast and you have to spend a bit of time with it learning where to attenuate both internally and externally. Once you figure that out it's great, and the mods really do add a lot of extra control.

Re: Multiplying clock in BB

I think it is always easiest to work backwards from a slow division as a master clock as mentioned above or tweaking some sort of sync between two LFOs but... I can describe one patch that can double your clock speed - trouble is it is resource intensive and you'll only get x2 multiplication - nonet...

Shit sorry - I have twenty available on my Bandcamp, due late November as the label guy is waiting to get them produced - I could put one aside for you when they arrive, no extra charge except postage?

Re: Put your Album Release into this Thread!

Hey.

New cassette release by myself on Tesla Tapes.
Done almost exclusively on Bugbrand modular gear with a dash of concret/field recordings. Heavy stuff, no doubt the result of isolation with a concrete block.
Hope you enjoy.

Re: Another case of the blues

Happy new lockdown! Got another release out into the wild - once again almost exclusively done on Tom's fab gear (with a little (more than a little) help from Robert). Worth noting I used the Chirper a lot one this, but not so much as a wild noisy fun generator as the source for most of the bass dut...

We've uploaded a mini-mini-EP on the SELF-HELP Bandcamp page, featuring two versions of the initial collaborative piece that spawned SELF-HELP. Here it be:

Re: DDSR (/ClockBox Frame) Bus switches

I just realized this post was from a couple of years ago! This looks really cool, being able to clock it without having to sacrifice an envelope or use an external source. I may have to pick up a Chirper if I see one used. I’m a bit ham fisted when it comes to soldering SMT stuff, but this looks pr...

I haven’t looked at the back of my DDSR, but does it already have the necessary header? Is that the box that connects to the Bus in the DDSR block diagram?
I believe it should have, right next to the jumper switch.

Re: DDSR (/ClockBox Frame) Bus switches

Just wanted to bump this as I've just recently connected the Chirper's oscillators to the DDSR buses as shown in the above pics^^^
Really cool having the two linked up and ready to talk at the flick of a switch, highly recommended procedure!

Re: Live Bugbrand Videos

Not a live video, but was invited to make something A/V for a stream recently, so did a video for a track off an upcoming release.
As per usual, the track is almost all Bugbrand/SL (think there's a wee bit of Microbrute on this one also).
Enjoy!

Re: got a case of the blues

That's a nice selection in two frames there. I've personally found two frames of Bugbrand (with a slight extension of PT Delay and XO Filter affixed to one end) just in the goldilocks zone for me in terms of range of possibilities vs enforced limitations - despite all the cool modules Tom has recen...

Live Bugbrand Videos

Inspired by other Bugbrand users on this forum, I've started having a go at filming myself playing. I'm new to doing this, so please forgive any poor production or presentation - been experimenting with OBS and Droidcam with the view to eventually start streaming live sets. I've already realised thi...
