Re: Post your NEW 5U Audio and Videos here

nice journey johny-gtr! Reminds me of some classic early electro from the likes of E. Radigue and or Popol Vuh etc..

I would rather have seen the Moslab gear a little better though. You were doing some interesting knobbery and I love to pick up techniques from watching.

Re: STG Soundlabs Oscillator

A little more detail about the modulation feature of the oscillator. This a longer drone so you can hear the slow and subtle pitch modulation. The drone is controlled by a pair of Q960 sequencers and a pair of STG Voltage sequencers for octave and semitone transpose. The video demo is in two parts. ...

Re: STG Soundlabs Oscillator

Here is an example of using the front panel modulation for detuning the vco's. It is subtle in this patch and the speed is pretty fast for the quick percussive sounds.

Re: Dotcom's Easy Panel Parts Replacement. Have you needed it?

TBH I have never had to replace any panel parts yet in 13 years. I have enjoyed the ease of adding for mods and have only had to fix one VCO octave rider board which had a cold solder joint. Quite the record for dependability.

The Master Musicians series is worth a look. Some of the more complete biographic writing along with music analysis makes for compelling reading. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CY1J4GL?ref_=dbs_dp_wim_sb_thcv&binding=hardcover Maybe not in the techno topic but a good way to keep inspired by mu...

Re: STG Soundlabs Oscillator

Ahhhh.... I am so happy. The oscillators have arrived and they are everything I was hoping for. A really quick patch to listen to them. Not a complete overview but certainly a good test of the rich sound of these new oscillators from STG Soundlabs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32xbrQb6nQU&feature...

Ahh, just throw a heavy chorus delay on the final output and you won't notice these things anymore.

Re: Triple Glide Usage?

I only have two slew integrator modules so it's not something I've tried, but it is a great idea. I have a MOTM 650 four channel MIDI to CV module and it has portamento control in two modes - constant rate and constant time. Since the rate is set for all voices they aren't independent like what you ...

Re: can the dfam psytrance?/ dfam,m32,subharmonicon Good Combi for krautrock/ psytrance?

I can only speak about the SubHarmonicon because it's the only one I own. I have used it for a number of different types of musical ideas so it is pretty flexible but there is a bit less control of the sequencer than there is with the Mother32. I think the Mother would be a better choice of the thre...

Re: Post your NEW 5U Audio and Videos here

Hank Hill here again. :hihi: (see above posts)... Fully 5U with a Voltage Controlled Slope by Sputnik run through an EH Canyon in octave mode for the rapid kick sounds and a new Echo Fix EF-X2 tape delay. A bit more percussive and sequencer driven to play with the delay. Kind of a simple idea to hav...

Re: new tape echo from ECHOFIX!

Agreed. The spring reverb is a welcome additon and fills the bill for someone looking to replace or upgrade from a Roland RE201. I remember the Re201 I had sounding a bit more tinny and metalic in the spring unit but it's been decades and my hearing isn't the same now either. This seems darker and m...

Re: new tape echo from ECHOFIX!

I really haven't stopped and taken the time to understand the Sound on Sound aspects fully but I do believe it layers nicely. It's not quite as strong as the Korg Stage Echo is at it. But it could be that I haven't set the feedback or Echo Level right. Even though the tape playback is outstandingly ...

Re: new tape echo from ECHOFIX!

Possibly not the best DEMO of the EF-X2 but I am very delighted with the sound of this delay. The beauty of that slowly shifting glide when the motor slows down is something I'll never grow tired of. I used an LFO with a very slow ramp into the CV Speed input. The sound source is a voltage controlle...

Re: Moogfest Sub-Harmonicon - What Is It?

I've had one for a few months and find it to be a load of fun but there are always pros & cons. Pros... The tone. The unique sequence and timing aspects. The wonderful patch bay network. Cons... No power switch. No output showing the subosc values (or any note values for that matter). The problem I ...

Re: Reel to Reel?

A project band I was in in the 70's used decks quite a bit. Mainly for recording our work but also as tools for looping or other effects. Samplers were prohibitively expensive and even the most modest stomp box pedals were pretty pricey so things like chorus/flanging and reverse effects were things ...
