Re: Subharmonicon with 5U and Euro

thanks valuoxxx!

athe SubH is quite fascinating all on it's own but adding external cv and accents is a good way to animate it further.

Re: analog quantizer? modcan?

All of these -except the miniwave, which is variable- start with a 1/12 volt staircase wave which is compared at a very fast rate against the incoming CV. I suspect the synthesizers.com Q171 & Q172 are utilizing LUT. The Q172 has two programable slots for custom voltage tables within 1 volt range a...

Re: Converting audio to gates?

For converting an envelope to a gate, there is a circuit called a Schmidt trigger that works better than a comparator... I’m not sure which modules provide a Schmidt trigger though. Can Maths do that? I think Disting mk4 can. A Serge/CGS Triple Comparator has one. You can buy kits to roll your own ...

Subharmonicon with 5U and Euro

https://soundcloud.com/david-ryle/this-place-in-case Using the Moog Subharmonicon with a pair of Music Thing Turing Machines and a Maths to impart a more random approach to the otherwise fixed polyrhythms produced on the Subharmonicon. The Turing Machines control PWM, Rhythm 3 and VCO1 & 2 main pit...

Re: Sine->mult->RM->etc.

If I understand Ring Modulation correct then two identical waveforms would never produce sum and difference so there would be no sideband output. If everything is theoretically perfect that is.

Re: analog quantizer? modcan?

Regarding voltage quantizers... I'm no EE but I don't know of a design that doesn't at least start with a A/D, latch, D/A comparator configuration all timed with a clock (glorified S&H). So is it analog or digital from that standpoint? Some designs might be based on a single chip and other older des...

Hey Rex Coil 7, that link to your bass signal router is classic! You out-rigged the best riggers of all time with that one. So much to chew on for anyone. Thanks for the detailed info and hard work (although I suspect you loved the project)

"Sequencer" music?

You know what I mean... Simple pulse bass lines with echo and reverb and endless slathering of ethereal pads over the top. Maybe a few percussive driving beats to accent the repetitive 20 minute long drone. Of course there should be a maximum amount of spacey filter sweeps and constraints to the min...

Re: Advice on a 5U skiff for a bass player

I got my first synth after a decade or more of playing bass guitar in bands back in the day. It was the same decision for me. I thought having a way to run my bass through the synth would be fun. I did with the Korg MS-20 but it was pretty poor results. I had a few of the envelope filter pedals like...

Re: Post your NEW 5U Audio and Videos here

Taurus-Littrow Touchdown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl6Qv59IkCM&t=60s My first attempt at using the Moog Subharmonicon with the modular. It is a total match except for the patch cables but I have plenty of 3.5mm to 1/4" so that wasn't a problem really. The fun part was using the pair of Q960 se...

Re: 5U ModCan Modular Libraries

I'd say it's a possibiity there could be some interest due to the relatively small number of people who own a decent size system from ModCan. I only have one module and feel lucky to have it. I use Kontakt but mostly for custom instrument libraries like the Bowed Piano and Singing Stones etc., thing...

Re: The mysterious case....

if the image has a transparent border instaed of a rectangular edge then the attachment routine will give that error. if you have an image editor then try to put a solid background behind it and flatten the image.
