Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller

Same for me: after several months of going back and Force between the Force, MPCs, Deluge, I found a good deal and got a Force. I'm still getting the hang of, lots of things I haven't explore yet but I'm very happy with it so far. I love how i can create a part on the modular sample it, immediately ...

Re: 1010music Bluebox - Compact Digital Mixer/Recorder

I’d be all over this if it had a couple of external effect sends and returns and 1/4 inch jacks. Send/return was the first thing I looked for too. Maybe can be routed with the extra outs? Cool little box anyway though. Yes you can do that. I ask 1010music during Synthbooth. They answer this (my que...

Can someone give me the name/reference of the button for the "fine" momentary switch ?
I lost mine, I thought it fell in my case but I can't find it so I'll have to buy one.

Re: NE Desmodus Versio

It works well on very modulated drones too: the change in frequency content allows the DV reverb to creep in and fill the holes of the main source.

Btw, here is a demo of the creative possibilities of the DV if you go for the bat shit crazy stuff. :miley:

Re: NE Desmodus Versio

should be amazing to feedback patch it with the distortion modules... This was what came to my mind right away: feedback patching. The ducking capability will be great for that... and for designing industrial techno Kicks/basses. The ducking capability? Of the DV? Or the distortion? Please explain....

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

Hello everyone, while gathering info about the Assimil8tor because I'm considering getting one, I just went from super exciting when I saw it can do SOS recording now, to a bit disappointed that, apparently, we can only chose between two feedback/regeneration values: 0dB and 3dB. It's quite nice to ...

Re: NE Desmodus Versio

I received mine 3 days ago after a month of wait: love it ! Wow this thing sounds dirty, dark, and angry. Can it do dreamy, bright reverbs as well? Maybe I just haven’t seen enough demos yet. Yes it totaly can: the tone knob goes to silence on both side so super dark AND super bright are possible, a...

Re: 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN

I'm trying to use a Midi keyboard to control the SWN (in keyboard mode) , using Yarns in 4 note poly mode. I find that I can't trigger the same note twice, so far the oscillator that is playing that note needs to receive a different pitch than the previous one in order to trigger the VCA. I figure ...

Re: 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN

I've started trying to get some kind of DnB bass sound from the SWN: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPqYZoKzSK/ I'm using 3 envelopes for table modulation but I will experiment with using the inside LFO.. I really enjoyed this! Are you using stock waves or ones you added? On the higher note, it's a s...

Re: Syncable Looper w/ Varispeed (4ms DLD?)

Not 100% sure of what you mean by varispeed (does it affect only delay time or pitch as well ?) but there's no way to affect the pitch on the DLD. It can be an advantage too depending on what you're after. The Make Noise mimeophone can do both: changng the rate knob changes the pitch + time but chan...

Re: NerdSEQ Portable

I find that having a well thought plan never works actually: the modules are never what you think they were when watching demos, the arrival of one module can render other useless, or useful.. and above that: your workflow develops according to what you have and what you need depends on your workflo...

Re: NerdSEQ Portable

Ok thanks for the info. I'll see if with my system I feel the need for more modulations. I'm building it so I can play a lot of stuff by hand and loop them (as audio or CV, and probably MIDI with the nerdSEQ) so I might no need as much... But only practice will tell. AFAIK, the Portable has no CV/Ga...

Yes it's a great option for all off the reasons you mentioned. I'm not looking to have everything in the rack personally but I like the fact that it's compact. I think it'll help get the feeling that it's part of the modular. Naa I don't want both. Both are interesting in their own right but I can't...

I'm super excited about this. I never considered the Nerdseq before because it seemed too complicated ...

Thanks for this very insightful answer: This is really helping me thinking this through ! I hear you about the (endless) possibilities of using a computer with the modular, but the things is it means the instrument is still the computer. It’s what I’d be interfacing it and I’ll be doing so in the sa...
