Re: Best FM module?

Humble Audio Quad Operator. Super straightforward, super powerful. Love the simple matrix mixer style design. It’s quite big, but any smaller and getting your hands on those many knobs would be too much of a pain. For me it is too small. I would be very interested in it if was about 50% wider so it...

Re: Tiny module that just converts bipolar to unipolar

Thanks y'all this is very helpful discussion. That bubblesound is the closest thing I've found to what I'm looking for -thanks for the tip. I was not aware of it. Gonkulater, here are a few other fairly compact offset-focused modules I found. https://www.modulargrid.net/e/mazzatron-gain-offset-mix ...

Re: Tiny module that just converts bipolar to unipolar

I don't know of any tiny modules that do this, but an offset module like Bubblesound LvL+RM will do it for four channels. Bipolar-> Unipolar or Unipolar -> Bipolar. Basically you are just shifting the voltage range (not attenuating the range.) I have a couple of them, but I think they might not be a...

Re: Eurorack RACKS (Information on the Racks)

I have several cases, mostly small, 90hp or 104 hp by Pittsburgh, a case sold as a set by Verbos, a couple of TipTop happy ending type racks, and a few cases made from scratch by me. I used all TipTop rails in the DIY cases, and have put Schroff rails in the others that didn't have them already, wit...

Re: Qu-Bit Bloom

Are we eventually going to bottom out on the discovery of problems with this module? Or do they somehow go on forever? At this point, I can’t even bring myself to sell this to someone as it simply wouldn’t be fair to someone unaware, and trying to make them aware of everything before or during purc...

Re: Sooooo frustrated with threaded strips

If modules aren't lining up with threaded rails, that is the modules, not the rails. Yes, and some manufacturers are really careless about this. I replaced four cases (PGH) with strips, and the cases I have made all have strips. Makes it so much easier, faster, and calmer to rearrange any random se...

Verbos Bark Filter, I guess, can't think of much else that might be considered "luxury." Or maybe some Macbeth stuff, but that is mostly because they never seem to be available.

Re: Questioning common advice

Trite advice is often dispensed under flawed assumptions. Folks asking questions generally fail to provide enough context to avoid flawed assumptions. Folks providing answers often fail to read enough of a thread—or read enough between the lines , or request enough clarification. So they assume the...

Using a VCA like MIR with an offset module like LvL+rm gives you great flexibility. Blinds is great too. For manual control only, SPO is nice.

Re: Verbos VS Cwejman ?

Funny, since the original post, Verbos has come out with a bunch of new modules. Cwejman, not so much. Not saying anything other than that. Qubit pumps out a bunch of awesome modules on a regular basis, and leave a lot of old ones in dire need of firmware patches because they pretty much feel 80% c...

Okay, here is an ongoing problem: After MG is on for a while (and it is on most of the time normally,) the Reel and Splice windows (and some buttons there as well) flash very quickly, in a way that doesn't correspond to the modulation that is going on. The functions correspond to the lights as well;...

As far as I know there is only 1 firmware thats installed, you can check it by pulling the microsd card on the back and mounting it on your computer

Re: Short cables, an overview

I prefer the Modular Addict Skinnys. I am not sure of the practicality of measured vs stated length, unless it is egregiously off, but even then, unless your semi-permanent connections are of a distance that is intended to match particular stated length, I would guess you can find a use for just abo...

Re: What’s in your vintage poly synth setup!?

I sold most of my older gear when I got into modular since I knew I wouldn't use it much if at all. I still have:

Roland Jupiter 6
Roland XV-5080 and E-mu Audity 2000, but they are only 20 years old
Korg Wavestation SR
Roland JD-990

I think that is it for old polys

I probably have too many, as I have never even come close to using all of them at once. I don't have time to count them all at the moment. Of course, one sequencer with eight channels is not equal to one with only one channel.

Re: incompatible voltage ratings between modules

Most of my modules do not have attenuation where needed. But even if they do, if I am modulating a parameter with a +/-5v source, attenuation at the destination will only attenuate around the 0V point, e.g., +/-1V, +/-2V, +/-.5V, etc. If I want a +/-1V signal centered around 1.5V, meaning .5V/2.5V, ...
