I do have to clear one thing up: Joe Grisso designed the Archangel sequencer, not me. I guess we look similar and have similar company names... We're different people I swear! I did code the SQ816 sequencer though. The SQ816. Is it the one Mattson did for his mini modular? Yup, that's the one! (The...

Close! The Equal/Var switch only determines the clock timing: Equal: Clock ignores middle row of pots Var: Clock is affected by middle row of pots It's the 8/16 step selection that really determines the output routing: 8 Step Mode: Top row 8 steps -> CVA Bottom row 8 steps -> CVB Middle row 8 steps ...

The middle row gives you an extra set of voltages to set when the sequencer is in 16 step mode. Steps 1-16 go out CV-A, and the middle row goes out CV-B (it loops through this row twice in the span of 16 steps since there are only 8 in the middle row). The other thing the middle row can do is modify...

So I built one of the original business card sequencers. It works just like it´s supposed to. The only issue, the IC gets a little bit warm, but the transistor gets wicked hot, like you burn yourself touching it for a millisecond.:deadbanana: I´ll probably put it behind a panel, but I don´t think i...

Hi Scott! Just got mine in the mail today. Sweet! Everything works fine but i find the reset fonction a bit weird. When running a sequence, pressing reset will stop the playback, waiting for a second press to go back to the 1st step, then a i have to press RUN again... Weird, it's supposed to stop ...

Do you sell the panel alone? I can if anybody wants just a panel I think you answered me about this already when I emailed you in your website. Scottzilla Could you tell us the dimensions of the PCB and the width (HP) of the module, please? The module is 18HP wide. The PCB behind the panel measures 90mm x 110mm. Will you be selling the PCBs and PICs like the first version, not just as a finished product? (I'll have to design my own panel a...

Ah. The final boards will have 4 mounting holes so you could mount it to a panel without the 3.5mm jacks being installed (was already thinking about adding them, but your agenda pushed me over the edge!)

Novel idea, I like it Thanks! You added an Accent output? Yeah, it's kind of like a gate that turns on whenever that note plays. I figure people can use it to open up a filter or activate their glide or whatever. What are the XP In/Out connections? They're used to daisy-chain multiple sequencers to...

For those of you wondering about Eurorack panels, this will be at NAMM. It uses a different PCB that's much easier to mount without modifying anything.

Quick build question: The buttons can be placed in any direction that fits or there is a specific position? Any direction that fits. There should be 2. It's in the neighborhood of 5mA. Only one LED is ever on at a time, and collectively they don't run at full duty cycle.

The expander adds: *Another CV/Gate out with their own note-priority setting *Velocity/Mod/Aftertouch out (discrete, not switched) *Arpeggiator (with fwd/ping-pong/random modes, plus "order played" mode where the order the notes are played is based on the order you play them on the keyboard) You can...

Our synths operate at voltages quite a bit higher than, say, the audio output of a CD player. This means that the connections aren't quite as sensitive to noise as most other connections you'll run into in the audio world. You might get away with using unshielded cables (heck, the banana guys do it ...

USB MIDI isn't limited to the 31,250 bps serial speed of regular MIDI, so it's faster. Data-wise, it transmits the same bytes plus some extra stuff (not even counting all the enumeration and junk continuum was talking about). Of course, if it's a USB-MIDI adapter, at some point it becomes a regular ...

It locks onto tempo changes pretty quickly. Initially it takes a couple clock pulses to get the timing since it has to generate 24 MIDI pulses for every incoming analog pulse (and it can't actually predict the future), but after that if there's any change in the timing between two incoming pulses it...

Well, you know the circuit design is good because there are other modules of the same design out there that do work. That leaves mechanical issues (soldering, messed up PCB, etc.) or bad parts. The most likely issue is something that happened during construction, like a bad solder joint or a part in...
