Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

Posting some observations after a few days of use: I uploaded a .pdf of all the preset 1 names, if anyone wants it. Link below. Some of the presets are amazing, and it’s fun trying to work out how they did what they did. If anyone can put names to initials, that would be great, obviously GH are Geor...

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

It's amazing, everything I hoped it would be. Build quality, user interface and sound are all insane. Very amazed by how "un-digital" things like FM, oscillator sync and PWM sound, it must be the FPGAs. Filters are totally lush, very sweet and vocal sound. Saved my first patch, a very lush high freq...

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

No, it's in the other room, away from the mastering studio, while I'm getting to know it! I intend to do some recording with it when the MIDI over USB and/or built in Sequencer are working, so maybe in a few weeks.

No Sequencer or USB MIDI yet but promised for August firmware update. You can check the "Known Issues" document on the website. Manual is up there too now. Sounds amazing!

Re: High End DJ Mixers

I would never in a million years have described the sound of my Condesa Lucia as "clean". It was very coloured, but in an extremely pleasing way, much like my mastering outboard gear (mostly Chandler, BTW!). Has the ability of making whatever you put through it sound better. Class A, discrete opamps...

Re: Behringer/Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension BBD-320

If this KT wasn't made by Behringer and was 1u, I'd definitely pick one up just to hear it. WHY IS IT 2u? Fuck Uli, but if it was 1u, that's hard to not take a chance on. it's bizarre, as they have many 2u effects that could be 1u(or STEREO) allowing consumers to buy more--in less space! really odd...

Re: High End DJ Mixers

I was listening to the 24 bit recording of my Three Hour Ambient Mix on headphones the other day, done on the Condesa Lucia, and the headroom, sound quality and blends are just insane. I do miss it!

Just been informed by the distributor that they will ship my Blue Super 6 to the dealer soon, the dealer will have it next week, and I'll have it soon after. Got sent the .pdf manual too. Happy Daze Ahead! :)

Re: Behringer/Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension BBD-320

Thanks Tony, not looking to mod the DC-2W as think it's pretty much perfect as is, but wondering about the sonic differences. I like the idea that all the control side is digital, it just sounds great. Yeah, Scott Stites did a lovely build based on the DC-2, with loads of controls brought out to the...

Re: Behringer/Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension BBD-320

Let us know what you think of this vs. the DC-2W please Synthbuilder, if you have one to compare. I've owned the original SDD-320, original DC-2 and DC-3, and currently have the Fromel Seraph Deluxe and the DC-2W. The Fromel sounds a bit warmer and has different modes (a deeper "vibrato" mode), manu...

Re: What are you listening to now?

I can't get enough of the bass on this track recently. It's maybe the best bass I have ever heard. I play it every day, really loud, at least once. :)

Re: U.D.O. Super 6 hybrid "binaural" poly

Yeah, same. Nice to see the looping envelopes, nice to hear some simple filter sweeps, nice to hear it in "regular" (not binaural) mode, great to hear the raw sound quality.

I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT TO GET MINE!!! :)

Yes, that's why I didn't use them, as soon as you switched them in, you could hear it change the sound, even when set flat.

Re: High End DJ Mixers

I hate extra features on DJ mixers. I need a cue function, phones and main out levels, two line/phono inputs, and two stereo channels with a level knob each (I hate crossfaders), quality pots, and transformer balanced line level outputs, on a spacious, clean fascia. If I ever order something custom,...

Re: High End DJ Mixers

It just had that lovely thick, sound (I guess attributable to being transformer balanced, class a, higher voltage, quality parts, all discrete etc.) that made anything you put through it, sound better. I ordered it new, sold after about a year, but as waiting list was so long, got more than I paid f...

Re: High End DJ Mixers

I miss my Condesa Lucia! Had the same sound and vibe as some of my analogue outboard (the Chandler stuff). Might ask Mehdi to custom make me some super simple portable thing at some stage, if he's still doing custom work. When I listen back to the mixes I did with it, I am always impressed with the ...
