Re: My modular synth inspired semi-modular pedalboard
If anyone has done something similar, I would love to see other methods. Also, I wanted to share this before a major rebuild (which will allow me to stack any of my pedals in parallel to each other) Yep, someone here on Muff, not too long ago, posted a picture like yourself, with a DIY patchbay con...

Re: Any love for Chase Bliss Audio pedals?
I have a Therma since a few weeks and I love a lot about it. There's one big problem though: The manual states that the LPF is "slightly resonant", which is a strong understatement. The resonance is so strong that for every setting of the LPF in between 9 and 12 o clock the circuit most often goes ...

Re: Modern Cassette Recorders
Hum.....I horsed around with tape recording a few months back. Got an old Fostex multitrack and ordered a bunch of custom-made endless tapes from Tapeline in the UK (surprisingly, not really too much coin) - had fun doing sound-on-sound with it, but had a bit of a hard time on equalizing all the tra...

Re: Goatkeeper Malekko - any thoughts?
I would be interested in how this compares to the original - I bought the original version ages ago and even made a quick (and shitty recording) demo for Austin at Lightfoot Labs. Had a blast with the pedal, but never found a way to incorporate it onto my rig.

Re: Post pics of your guitar/bass/amp/pedal setup!
Rather rainy and stuffy hot day during the Holidays with nothing to do, so decided to organize my cramped space. Took a few snapshots of the stuff I've been hoarding since time immemorial. Don't really have anything exceptional in terms of guitars and amps - a few tube amps built locally and some ch...

Re: WMD Protostar
Out of curiosity, checked the pedal's manual on the power supply - it says that a standard 9VDC, Boss Style Center Negative, 300mA, will do. But then he writes that a 1A supply is recommended - it seems that a 300mA will not do in this case. I would drop WMD a line on this.

Re: Teenage Engineering PO Modular 400
Pretty hard to beat this pricewise, especially considering that it comes with a sequencer. But I don't know - looks kind of flimsy and you have to mount this thing (which from the demos, seems to be a bit of a pain). I would go for some used Doepfers (you just can't go wrong with them) that can be f...

There are a good deal of demos on the Mission Control:
Personally, I just use a simple Boss Line Selector - cheap and easy to use - perfect for me.

Re: Isolated Power Supplies
I am looking to power a large board... Pedal Pad Phat... Looks like the largest Isolated PSU out there is the Walrus Audio Phoenix, with its 15 Total Isolated Power outlets, plus a courtesy IEC inlet. I am wondering if anyone here knows of a bigger option, or one of the same or comparable size that...

Re: Guitar pedal send/return pedal thing
Just remembered I meant to post my “modular” pedal board in this thread when I finished it. Just some plywood, 2x4s, and a spare Neutrik 1/4” patchbay I had lying around. It’s normalled so that all the pedals (but one, I needed an extra set of in/outs for the parallel loops pedal) have two ins and ...

Re: Good stereo reverb
According to Benn Jordan, who seems very knowledgeable on the effect, the best reverb around is by Empress with the GFI Specular Tempus right behind. From your list, the Ventris and the Meris seem really up there, very high end effects (though the endless button tapping on the Meris can be a bit of ...

Re: Reel to Reel?
I thought about R2R myself, but was quickly discouraged by price and general hassle on format and equipment. A cheaper and easier way, if interested, is getting a three-head cassette player and hook it onto a mixer. The best solution would be an old Marantz professional recorder, a PMD 200 series wi...

Re: Using Clouds module as a guitar pedal
For US$200, you can get yourself a version one Particle on Reverb (https://reverb.com/item/35715195-red-panda-particle-v1) and for an additional $40 you can get the new version of Particle (yes, the difference is quite up there - I would no doubt spend a bit more for the second version). To be hones...

Grab an incredibly cheap Mooer Orange Ninety, which is a clone of the MXR phaser and costs $30 to $40.

Re: Using Clouds module as a guitar pedal
I second the Bastl Hendrikson (though it won't fit into a 4MS case) - the way my guitar enters the Euro rig - but, this said, mate, just get a particle - an excellent pedal for granular.

I wonder how this will compare to the Empress reverb and the GFI specular tempus - there's some very mean competition in regard to reverb.

Re: timeline / el capistan question
FWIW I sold the Timeline and got the Volante, I don't like menu diving and prefer the hands on approach of the Volante. I never really used all of the models on the Timeline and always had to open the manual to go through the parameters. Ah, I would never do that - the lofi is everything on the Tim...

Re: 1st guitar and a newbie signal flow question
Nice set and an excellent choice for guitar. As others have stated, a little combo amp would be great - get a used, cheap ZT - small and powerful. It seems that the guitar will be compliment the rest of the rig to the never ending search for noise (I doubt it that you will be keen on playing double-...

Re: Help me choose a pedal
Haha, couldn't have said it better - bought the Meris bit crusher when it came out, and, yeah, all the functions and menu diving is really a pain - like a good deal of the CBA stuff and the "mouse keyboard" on the front - just got the Blooper, and the ridiculous amount of features is really intimid...

Re: timeline / el capistan question
i had both. both are cool, quality is very top. elCap is slightly more deep, focused and detailed about tape emulation (and it has spring reverb!). And it is more playable - all parameters are under your fingers. Timeline is a great multidelay unit. Lo-Fi, Ice and Reverse algos are very impressive ...

Yep, got the notice today and also placed my order. The demos on this thread made this pedal just too good to resist. Although I already have a Red Panda Particle 2, which is quite impressive, the Microcosm seems to go way beyond.
