Re: William Basinski - Why Did No One Tell Me?!?!

Caught his music twice - been to his Issue Project Room extravaganza last year - in early November - eight hours of non-stop music with this amazing light show. Incredible! Was really lucky to have caught this. And saw him live in a small, old baroque church, here, in downtown Rio - about two years a...

Re: Four records that changed your life.

Curious you've mentioned Ultravox - I'm a massive fan, but only of the pre-Midge Ure era. From Vienna onward it was a bit of a put down for me. I love the song, but Vienna the album is actually quite bad... Love Rage in Eden though. But I never got into John Foxx-era Ultravox! though, but I really ...

Re: Favorite looper pedals?

And here’s the new looper from the Beat Buddy guys, and I’m really impressed by what I see: https://singularsound.com/product/aeros-loop-studio/ I spotted the Aeros Looper a while ago and even created a thread here on the Guitar Section (which has since sunk into obscurity....) - yep, this also cau...

Re: Four records that changed your life.

Ultravox - Vienna & Visage - Fade to Gray: Two records, yes, but one instance. They were played on a popular toplist program on Swedish radio one week, I loved both, and the radio host called them "synthpop". It gave me my first musical identity. Curious you've mentioned Ultravox - I'm a massive fa...

The pedals from Parasit Studio in Sweden are really cool, at least the ones I know. I built and have the Raygun Youth and the Into The Unknown.

I second Parasit! Their stuff is tops!

Re: Fat Rat / Plasma Pedal? Opinions?

The Plasma seems nice, but a bit too much $$$. Somewhat similar and just as unruly, I have the Ace Octave Fuzz by Wren & Cuff, a take on the famous FM2 fuzz. Big, ghastly fuzz tone, enough to make your neighbors flee in terror..... As for synth pedals per say, Subdecay's M3 seems somewhat interestin...

WMD Superfatman. Amazing set of controls to the thing. Though the best "quacks" I know of would be the old Frostwave "Funk-a-Duck" - the thing is a killer!

Floyd's Piper at the Gates of Dawn (still can't believe this was recorded in 1967....) S/He was as complicated as s/he was influential. As horrid as s/he was wonderful. One of those rare individuals who leaves an impression on everyone s/he came in contact with. Not all positive impressions, not all negative impressions. I'm not sure if s/he ended up being the resolution of opposites...

Re: What upgrades for a regular new guitar?

From the headstock, suffers from the same tuning issues all Gibsons have - the friggin' G string. I got this a while back: https://www.string-butler.com/ Although it doesn't fully resolve the problem, it greatly enhances tuning and eliminates the annoying "jump" when attempting to ace the string's p...

For those in the US, Chris Freeman at Fusetron announced the second box on his site: https://www.fusetronsound.com/ At the moment, I can't seem to find it, but I certainly did catch it at Fusetron - can't remember the exact release date for the second half of ZF's oeuvre, but the price was around US...

Anyone catch this? https://en.cphdox.dk/programme/other-like-me Just stumbled upon it while procrastinating at work on the TG site. Still have bearly scrateched the surface of the DW, but a collaboration between CBA and Meris is something really out there - yeah, this is going to be quite up there - caught somewhere that the price was around US$850 or so.

I like the screen; I think that would be a big help. Six independent loops and you can track exactly where you are with a touch-screen - something I find to be very useful when looping. And even select a snippet on the fly! As a pedal, I found this quite up there - very tempted in getting one (desp...

I used Paypal without an issue when I got the Lyra 8. Almost got the Pulsar, but the price was kind of hefty and ended up with a Moog Dfam at a third of the price. However, SOMA was lightening fast in providing forms of payment - a direct transfer to their Polish account was an option. And they will...

Very decently priced and despite size crammed with features - the Echo X has input, volume and level controls and is perfect for what I wanted it for. Got the Air Space Invader, but have yet to try it. Very nice pedals from the UK.

Thought about the drone box, but ended up getting a Beetronics Swarm (bizarre, off-the-wall, eh?, "fuzz" thing). Seems to be quite up there - unfortunately, no Igor with the drone unit - this little pressure pad really give the entire thing a nice twist, especially for delays and reverbs.
