I think I'd rather have an 808-sounding than a 909-sounding kick, just because I think a 909-style, VCO-based kick wouldn't sit so well with the other sounds.
That's just a matter of taste, though. I'm sure it would be cool, either way.

Re: Another little somthing I've been working on: DR110 inspired 6 voice drum module
Great work, @devinw1!
My vote would be for keeping it as close to the original as possible. I don't mind not having v/oct CV control of the kick pitch, personally.

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds
I've had issues with bridging across fine-pitch IC pins on my last couple of builds. In both cases, it turned out there was solder trapped behind the pins, so very hard to spot, and to remove with braid. I ended up desoldering the chips with hot air, cleaning up the pads and replacing them. Somethin...

@devinw1 I'd be up for a set of boards and a panel, too, if that's an option.

Re: TiNRS Tuesday DIY QFN Parts
Thanks guys. I hadn’t noticed those teeny chips had a contact in the centre, too.
That makes me think they’re going to be even less fun to solder than I thought.
I’m still tempted to give it a go though. I like a challenge

TiNRS Tuesday DIY QFN Parts
Anyone made up a DIY TiNRS Tuesday?
I'm really tempted, but I'm a bit worried about the fine-pitch QFN ICs.
Does anyone have any experiences, tips etc. they'd like to share on this build, before I invest in a board?

Re: Atom Running HOTTTT
Thanks @steviet, good to know. I will look at it again. I got one of the shift-register ICs the wrong way up, initially. Though it seemed to be working OK, after I'd desoldered it and turned it round the right way, maybe there's an internal short inside the IC. It did get pretty hot, when it was pow...

Re: performer (or is it per|former?) sequencer build
Hi!. I tryed with power but no good news. I use the St-Link to Jtag conector, I will upload two fotos, one of the board and one of the adaptor. I thing I have all the required components soldered to program the board. You might want to check for shorts across the pins of the JTAG header. Do you hav...

Re: Atom Tips For Avoiding Sticking Pots
I've managed to mostly free all the pots, now, through a combination of widening the holes fractionally with a round file, and removing and reseating one of the pots. Now it seems that one of the pots is no longer working, though, sadly. My guess is removing and replacing the "Brain" board repeatedl...

Atom Tips For Avoiding Sticking Pots
Hi All,
just built my first Atom, and about to start on number 2.
Before I get started, I was wondering if anyone has any tips for making sure the trimmer pots don't catch on the edges of the panel holes?

Atom Running HOTTTT
Anyone else noticed their Atom gets Really Hot during normal operation? Mine gets almost too hot to touch on the back of the "Brain" board, around where one of the voltage regulators is, and under the MCU. I've had it on for maybe an hour of post-build testing, and everything seems to work as it sho...

Re: Building a Sonic Potions LXR in 2019?
Incidentally, talking of morphing; is it expected behaviour that a kick drum in the top channel always seems to drop out entirely in the middle half or so of the morph range?

Re: Building a Sonic Potions LXR in 2019?
However with the PROK drums now offering a similar function. My LXR might have its days numbered. PROK drums have a similar parameter morphing concept, but don’t expect anything like the sound quality of the LXR. The limitations of the Teensy’s crappy builtin 12-bit DAC really show, especially on t...

Re: DVCA Mystery Part
Ah, sorry, you’re right- I should have checked the Eagle files!
The build guide pdf doesn’t show this pad at all, though, which is what confused me.
To be honest, I’d forgotten about the Eagle files.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me.

Can anyone ID the unpopulated part at bottom left in this photo?
The board claims to be v.1.2, but neither the Build Guide for 1.2 or 1.3 shows this footprint.

Anyone had any luck compiling the Befaco CV Thing firmware in Arduino/Teensyduino? I get a load of errors related to MIDI whenever I try. Re: Befaco CV Thing 20 vs. 18/24 Detent Encoder
OK, 18 detents works fine, but unfortunately, the encoder direction is reversed, with the particular encoder I chose. I've dropped Befaco Support a mail. Hopefully they can point me in the direction of the line(s) in the firmware to edit to fix this. Will report back here, in case anyone else has th...

Befaco CV Thing 20 vs. 18/24 Detent Encoder
Hi All,
I have a Befaco CV Thing full kit on the way from Thonk. I would like to use a Rogan PS encoder knob, but that requires a D-shaft encoder.
Can't seem to source a 20-detent part with a D shaft. Anyone know if 18 or 24-detent encoders would work?

Re: ATN8 Channel 8 LED Issue
I can't see any missing components around U8.
The opamp is correctly orientated.
I reflowed solder on U8. Looks OK through a loupe, and I can't see any shorts across pins or other obvious issues.
