I don't think he'll do 5U ever again. I can't remember exactly where or how I heard it - it may have been a phone call or email I cant find - but he inferred that hand-making the quantities of 5U that were ordered from him over time was very hard on his health. And that's in addition to the health i...

I remember about 10 years ago I really wanted to start a Modcan A system and I called up Bruce and asked what kind of system I could start for 2000 dollars. He said "Call back when you have 3000 dollars." But its true. I wouldnt even bother with modular until i had a good amount saved up. If 1k is y...

Nah. I own an Integra 7 which is the latest Roland rompler but I still own a JD990. It still has some magic to its heft and sheen that the other romplers dont. Maybe something in its D/A section. Id buy either of these two before a 5080.

Yep lots of fun. I had my Jacno phase about 5 years ago where I collected the early 80s stuff then sold it all. Great minimal pop.

Theres a lot of vintage I would buy and try, effects included, but if I didnt pay what they were going for 5-10 years ago then Im sure as shit not going to pay what theyre going for now. Ive got lots of toys and thankfully have kept some of the vintage from the old days when you could get really goo...

I'd love a change, I'm slightly embarrassed about it when surfing it at work, but honestly my wife and others find Gearslutz far more offensive.

Of all of those options, with my present studio, I'd go with a properly serviced BEMI Easel.

I dont need the sound of the S1 or A4 with my present options and the M5 is just way too big for my studio situation.

Wow. Didnt know there was a behringer version of the Spectrum. Might be worth a lok for me.

Its just a one band eq but very handy on a pedalboard and live setting.

It'd be nice to have a brand new Spectrum. Who cares about the other 2 but the price is nuts?

This is about 10 years behind. The market has plunged for guitar and pedal stuff compared to 10 years ago.

I'm starting to save up for an H9000. But I hope it's not just a faster more powerful H8000 with mostly the same functions and presets and ability to do more channels and stack more. I hope there are a lot of algos and functions that you can only get/do with the H9000 plus have all of the H9 algos a...

I would recommend a used Phenol first as a taste of Kilpatrick before investing in a full system of individual modules of theirs. I use one as a nice utility synth with my 35 space Modcan A, Serge panel and banana'd Frac and it works well. However, based off of the Phenol. I would not spend massive ...

Have you tried the alesis metavox? They are sometimes cheap and decent.

Or the boss SE50/SE70/VF1?

Other than those, things start to get expensive and rack mountable quick.

Soundcraft Spirit Pro Tracker is great for this and doesnt take up much room and is rackable. They come up once in awhile used. Limiter and 100hz hipass filter per channel which is very useful for modular.

Early-mid 80s Yamaha Portasounds are actually decent instruments. Wait to find some super cheap, never overpay. We have a PSS-460 and a PSS-680 at the house. Both great, both $20 each. With the consistently $500 USD or less limit here are some great ones that I own. MKS50 JD990 TX81Z TG33 Micro and ...
