Re: Affordable synth with nice keybed
I love the keyboard on my DX11 and it’s a great sounding synth as well (it’s a keyboard version of the TX81Z with an additional pitch envelope). It sounds awesome and it even supports micro tuning, which is why it’s so popular with Balkan and Middle Eastern musicians (half of the YouTube videos are...

Re: 2020 Holiday Waiting Game
I bought a Doepfer A-110-4 from Juno two weeks ago. Royal Mail, not trackable. I know 2-4 weeks isn't too unexpected to wait for Royal Mail + US customs + USPS at the best of times, but this is definitely not the best of times. This is the last module to "finish" my system, so the extra uncertainty...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl
The pressure part of my Octrl, well, how would i say it seems to have some sort of a slew on it, Yes it does, that's been discussed earlier in the thread. That's really cool I didn't realize that. I always end up using a slew limiter when I use the pressure out(s) of my Pressure Points. Its not tha...

Re: Which old school eurorack modules don't get enough love anymore?
The Toppobrillo Triple Wave Folder and Sport Modulator are both classics IMO. So incredibly versatile and for me the kinds of modules that got me excited about eurorack in the first place. I was just using the TWF to fold/distort envelopes the other day. So nuts. Phonogene and Rene v1 are also brill...

Re: 4ms Pods
Yeah I wasn't able to fit the Doepfer SEM as it turns out. It ended up being fine since I just shuffled some things around. that's interesting, maybe Doepfer made deeper and shallower versions? Mine fit comfortably in a pod64x :despair: Huh. I'd imagine all Doepfer SEMs are the same. Do you use was...

Re: 4ms Pods
Has anyone fit a Doepfer SEM filter into a PodX? It seems like the depth is exactly the same (55mm) which is cutting it pretty close. I've got a Doepfer a-111-6 mini synth in a podx & it is supposed to be 50mm, the extra 5mm is there underneath it but you are pretty much on the floor of the box & w...

Re: 1U Tiles - Did Intellijel bribe all these manufacturers or what?
There was no technical reason to not use the PL format; nobody is putting 1U tiles in anything but a eurorack case so conforming exactly to 1U height is an arbitrary decision. They introduced a slightly different format to push a competitor out of the market, they're not the first business to do it...

Re: Looking for a builder? Post here!
I’m looking for a builder/tech in the Detroit area who can replace an ancient Doepfer PSU1 (from the 90’s!) with a PSU2 (which I have) in an old P3 rackmount case. It should be relatively simple job. I have a tech who COULD do it but he’s really busy and can’t give me a time estimate and I’d rather ...

I was on the Zoom call for about an hour yesterday - it was a lot of fun! I believe 2.0 has moved into a semi-public beta - I think you can email Jim and he'll send you the firmware. One of the additions I'm excited about are new mod input destinations (especially excited about the different ways th...

Re: Ladik love
I'm curious about people's experience with Ladik's panning mixers - the a-174, a-175, etc. How quiet are they. At one point I had a panning module from Ladik that was quit noisy (a-410) so I wanted to see how people were liking the a-170 series.

Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime
The O_C hardware only accepts up to around 6.5v positive and something like -3.5v negative. The output is similar +6v and -3v.Whatisvalis wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 5:23 pmI was using the CV input on the Scope app and it seems to max out around 6.5v. Re: Quantizers in 2020
Since you’ve bought O_C it’s worth looking at the alternative Hemispheres firmware. I typically use one hemisphere as a quantizer and then use the other hemisphere for whatever else might be useful/interesting in a patch. Since all the Hemisphere Applets are pretty simple I found it easier to manage...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer
I've been clocking Vector with Pam's via the Run and 24ppqn outputs of the Pam's PEXP-2 expander. What I've found is that about 1/3 of the time I get a slight lag in the sequencer which I believe is caused by Pam's sending the Run and Clock signal at the exact same time when you start Pam's which me...

Re: What do ya do with S&H
Sometimes I use ten to twenty S&H in a patch, often in the 'quantussy cell' configuration. Yes, I have that many! :sb: https://pugix.com/synth/eurorack-quantussy-cells/ Twenty sample and holds in a patch! Amazing. I probably use S&H or T&H in every patch but I've never come close to that number. Ed...

Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime
What’s the purpose of Sequence 5 if it only fires off a trig only at the beginning of the 5 step sequence?? Is there not a way to use it as a traditional sequencer? It's a 5-step voltage sequencer, which is a somewhat traditional voltage sequencer (Buchla used 5-step sequencers I believe). I usuall...

Re: Branches or sequential switch?
I love switches. I have an a-150, a-151, and a-152 in my rack. Switches are great because you can use them to switch between anything - not just gates/triggers like Branches (which I also own and love). It wasn't until I started messing around with switches that I started to understand the joy of mo...

ResetClock is a clever solution that looks like it'd work for analogue sequencers too. The effect of the catch-up pulses on reset is actually pretty cool in its own right on the DFAM. Glad you liked ResetClock, it's really nice how simple the Hemisphere api is for putting these kind of simple apple...

Re: Favorite module that no one knows?
I wouldn't say it's totally unknown, but the Nonlinearcircuits Sauce of Unce is a wonderful Buchla source of uncertainty clone that I don't see in many racks. The same can be said for quite a few NLC modules - another favorite is the 329 Phase/Flange. It's a truly bonkers phaser. Noise Reap has some...

The only LPGs I've had that didn't have some amount were passive - like the Meng Qi DPLPG or the Takaab one that you have. But, like others have said, it varies so much unit to unit that I've always made a point to try before I buy if possible. I used to have a LxD and I before I bought it I tried s...

Maybe change the thread title to “shipping is a total crapshoot right now; we’re all just crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.” I’ve received a number of items that USPS said never even shipped. FedEx in Detroit had a 2+ week backlog with items just sitting in trucks waiting to be unpacked....
