Re: Intellijel Atlantis with Metropolis. Getting actual notes?

are you sure all the setting on the atlantis are correct? you havent got some random thing set wrong like the filter closed or the envelope inverted so its closing the vca when you send it a gate ? thats why i suggested following a patch example or putting up a photo

Re: dated contemporary music that sounds like a cliche or fetish

its not all about the most popular and cliched examples either, often they will inspire other people to use those elements in a more interesting and contemporary way. Cabaret Nocturne for example has some "synthwaveish" elements/influences for sure but it sounds really fresh and interesting

Re: Do house/techno artists/labels release 7” singles?

yeah those tiny vinyls are a bitch... i wouldnt go near them if i was mixing records for any sort of crowd at a party or what not, theres enough music on 12" that theres no need to dice with death

Re: Grids vs Euclidean Circles

i use channel 1+3 in program mode for certain drums, then use the other 4 channels in euclidean mode with a SSM to move the triggers around which is a nice combo. at the point now where a second one would be nice tho

Re: Eurorack Techno

I think the first half of that track 145 is great! just my (uneducated) opinion, i tend to steer away from the more industrial sounding material though, the chronologically earlier stuff has a bit of a sweeter tone to me? i think you should focus on whatever gives you the most joy musically though, ...

Re: modular minimal

I like the groove a lot! Funky as hell. :sb: The melody that follow the bass line that emerge halfway in is great, love that. If I can request anything it would be another little sequenced melody perhaps. Something simple :) I used the same patch to create another similar track, the E340 cloud gene...

Re: Thicker sounding attack on kicks (techniques)

imo the charm of the 808 is in the decay, not the attack... you dont need to layer in a daw, just trigger something else short and clicky at the same time and mix them together... if you make the 808 huge then gate it short with an envelope that might give you a bit more punch
