Top left of this shows a simple suitable approach for balanced input - follow it with a gain stage if required for amplification to modular levels:

^^ Cool!
Though I like the suggestion too by VoltControl on the last page - those alu profiles look really useful for making all sorts of frames etc - useful possibilities given I've been playing with hydroponics (eaty herbs, before you ask!)

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?
My Akg adr68k is a cold dead hands piece. It has tons of weird features like envelope followers triggering a second reverb after the first, making some weird almost granular textures. It also has 4 cv inputs that can be assigned all over the place. :sb: Ooh, never heard of that! The ADR 68K is the ...

Re: Fake TL074 chips in circulation
All ICs will be going scarce for at least the next year. Current semiconductor demand far exceeds supply, as the automotive industry is discovering and having to cut back vehicle production significantly. Most fabs are already at or near capacity, and more importantly blank wafer production is maxe...

That behaviour, the pulsing on & off, shows fault condition - ie. it was clear that you'd probably made a short / mis-plugging, rather than the fuse being at fault.

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?
The Dynacord is kind of interesting but in a different league to more versatile big digi-verbs -- it is either delay OR reverb & there's little versatility within, to be honest.

Re: My oscillators are bullies
Good thread guys! Many years ago I worked on a early (Crumar?) analog synth that a guy had bought second hand. The complaint was that it wasn't stable enough to use on stage. When I opened it up, to my surprise, there was a large soldering iron mounted in a crude makeshift bracket wired into the AC...

Excessive but inertia..
[PS - the EF303 mentioned up top - had one years back - always wanted to love it but always ended up disliking!]

Re: Binary Block Voltage
I finally updated the BBV listing to show the updated knobs - which I can always provide to people who had an early one. Funny how I'd kind of sidelined the design previously - I think the jarring knob choice was part of that. Good number of requests for them now so I'd best get some more made. Than...

As always the balance of desire vs decency. Do you believe in better? Everyone believes in decency and 'better'. There is no general consensus about what constitutes 'decency' and 'better' Everyone? ;) My point, minimally posed, is whether people who have felt that B have done bad before (maybe eve...

Lovely! (I could have done the interface cables for you ;) but sure you're well capable on them!) Any particular reason why they are not listed on the site, or just no time because you are so busy? I seem to always be in this boat :). Yes, general busyness and a lot of sales (esp the modular) just g...

Re: Various questions: Tricore osc, banana cables and book suggestions?
Can I plug banana cables to common 3.5mm jacks as found in alot of eurorack modules and behringer stuff? You need to first establish a common 0V (ground) between systems as bananas are single connectors - see here: https://www.bugbrand.co.uk/technical-info/interfacing/ Of course, banana synths are ...

Re: using a inverter,scale,offset utility to transform a s trigger to a v trigger
Literally, 3 components: http://www.retrosynth.com/docs/trigger/index.html (or maybe I'm back to front!) Guess the b-env needs a 'shorting' trigger to fire - this simple transistor circuit performs that for you & can easily fit in a jack plug. I used to use them so I could trigger the arp on my korg...

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Yes, it is messy at the moment (said as a VAT registered UK company still very unsure where things stand...) I *think* that ANYONE (/company) selling in to the UK is meant to register for VAT - seems like quite a few companies aren't happy with this, but I guess Thomann have got on board because I, ...

You're a bug fan, I think? The COFilter might be up your street then! If you just monitor the Mid band in series mode then you've got a bandpass with variable low & high frequencies (each with resonance). PS - Michael O's comment - I saw this a couple of days ago via the new 500 series thread: http:...

How about a power soak instead?
[I know very little about such things but...!]
Though looks like you'd have to hack in to the speaker wiring itself..
This sort of thing for example: https://guitar.com/guides/buyers-guide/ ... mplifiers/
