I bought a pretty beat up Rhodes 73 Instructor Edition with all passive electronics. I love it! It's a bit quiet and noisy though when I put it into a DI into my UAD Apollo. Is there a better way to get the signal up? Do I need to buy a guitar amp? I'd rather not. I've seen others talk about an ART...

i know it might seem like it would hurt your overall sales of your modules but you essentially make chips right? Why not make me a module that i can put all these great chips into when i want/need. id buy a ton of chips....a META module and just swap in/out? ZIF socket? Like the good old Simmons? T...

so are all the sounds the same volume all the time? Yes But you can use 4 of them to get individual tune/volume. So a VA rhythm wolf with no sequencer, no tone controls, and no synth voice, for more than $500 built? That is more like 4 6HP euro modules prebuilt? That's what I meant - to achieve a r...

in that same vein, with the amount of space you have there on the panel wouldn't it at least make sense to tap the individual sounds out so at least you can balance their volumes, drop sounds in and out, etc. ?

Going to necro this thread to ask about the ZD-915 at this link: http://www.mpja.com/Desoldering-Station-for-Circuit-Repair-ZD-915/productinfo/19034+TL/ A couple of you said you use this. Still happy with it? I wonder if the Hakko FR300 is worth it for the +$100 price difference or if this is adequa...

^Good points. "Why is there a Resonance pot? You could just use a VCA and an Inverter and set up a feedback loop. Why is there a Ringmod module? You could use a couple of VCAs, an Inverter and a mixer. " I didn't know that about Resonance. Could you elaborate? I'd actually like to try this. About Ri...

I see some of your points, but a couple things: "you cannot simply replace knobs with CV inputs, the circuits are a lot more elaborate" In most cases modulars have CV inputs for most if not all controls regardless, so it wouldn't be a matter of replacing potentiometers but just removing them entirel...

Additionally, there are plenty of knobs up there - you just patch them in. Also, it would probably be less messy than a normal rig because all the patching would happen below the potentiometers.

Think about the number of Richard Devine videos where his rig is covered in 2000 patch cables. How is this any different?

I'm just playing on a fanciful idea, no need to go full-on hater :sadbanana:

It would look something like this (obviously ignore that the whole bottom row is multiples and imagine it to be filters, oscillators, vca's, etc.):

Idea for Euro modules, voltage control only, no pots

I was musing on tiny modules this morning and thought I maybe had a semi-original (?) idea. Why aren't there many modules produced where pots are done away with completely and only sockets for voltage control is provided? This is done already in certain respects, such as some tiny 2hp lowpass gates,...
