Just bought a CalTrans, expecting that it will save me a lot of headaches! The manual states that you shouldn't touch the coarse tuning knobs of your oscillators again after calibration, but that is very difficult with some of my oscillators, which might get knocked out of tune very easily. Can't I ...

I really love my Tesseract mixer system. I usually mute my signals elsewhere (always better to mute the gates than the audio), but I haven't heard many clicks when doing so. For critical channels, like a sub bass, you could always add a dedicated mute module that has vactrols to reduce clicks. The V...

My favourite is the Noise Engineering Mimetic Sequent with the Multium expander. I like my randomness repeatable and the MS even stores the sequences on power down.
Turing Machine is also great!

It powers up with an empty project, so yes, you need to save your work.

The Doepfer A-111-3 is great at tracking, and triangles, but just does not sound as fat on the squares. It has a smaller sound. I wonder if the fact that the Doepfer A-111-3 square is unipolar (from 0 to +10V) has anything to do with this? Or that, like the Dixie which sounds similar to the Doepfer...

Ginkosynthese Touch is awesome for this. Very immediate, because they're not mechanical switches with any travel in them. Can be switched to momentary or latching mode.

I mostly avoid getting duplicates, because I enjoy the little differences in similarly functional modules.
The two exceptions are:
- 2 Disting Mk.1s, for stereo clocked delay
- 2 Doepfer A-160-2 clock dividers

For those still looking for a uModII, I believe the Doepfer A-133 sounds very similar (=clean).
The RYO 2xVCX that I own definitely sounds a lot dirtier than these too.

It's the modulating signal that needs to be offset. :tu:
Indeed, you're right, I got the two mixed up!

I use them for modulating the VCA and/or filter to create a sense of note velocity. You can even assign note values to the Mod output in the NerdSeq, so you can create duophonic patches this way!

I use Shakmat Hipass to filter my effect sends going into my delays and reverb. And to remove any DC offsets at the end of my signal chain.
Considering getting a second one to hipass filter some of my voices too.

Also getting a lot of money's worth from many Doepfer modules, like the A-142-4 Quad Decay and A-178 Theremin.
