Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

Can we please get a Zone auto option for 1v/o tracking over one octave ? So the 8 zones can be played by one octave on a keyboard. Using keystep/hermod or any other midi solution with keyboard would make playing samples much easier. Unless im missing something for now i need to set it up every time...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

in the advance zone mode, how to reset to first zone? (now they advance one after the other, so if you don't stop after exactly the 8th zone, the next time you start it will continue where you left off, not start with the first zone) I don't believe there is any way to do this right now. I would lo...

Re: how do you manage your musical timeline using modular

why go back to the laptop for post and not simply record to a cassette tape (in the spirit of live modular). For me, what is acceptable live is not the same as recorded "tracks." I've noticed playing live that you can play loose and long, if the vibe is there and everyone is really feeling it. The ...

Would it be possible to use the Zone CV as a reset to Zone 1 trigger when you are in zone cycle or random?

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator

Unfortunately there is a hardware limitation that prevents this (no cable detection on the FM input so it would be unable to be normalized "high"). Try patching a short envelope into the FM though - IMO lots of hoover fun to be had :) Of course. Didn't even think about that. Still in love with this...

Re: Recording problems with eurorack?

Maybe your output needs to be buffered better? Maybe the impedance difference with the headphones does some filtering?

It seems a bit unfair to call this thread "recording problems with Eurorack" and not "recording problems with DIY." You might have more luck in DIY forum.

Re: Mix headroom when playing live

Playing my setup on a PA that's turned up has really helped me. I have QSC K8's with no sub. Setting my levels on the PA makes a huge difference in my translation for playing out. I still have a bit of trouble nailing the sub freq's the way I want to. Getting a subwoofer for the house seems like the...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

A different question: does recording work using trigger to start and stop recording? Is it accurate enough to allow sample playback instantly without having to edit start and end points? only start, which is a missed feature i think also (below) threshold could trigger a sample stop but isn't imple...

Re: Help with picking a new Audio Interface...and more

I have a Motu 16A and I’m super happy with it. Maybe consider adding it to your radar? I have a pretty big mixing desk and a bunch of patchbays so the only thing i have to do is coordinate patch cables. keeps the studio clean and I don’t waste much time setting anything up anymore. This is good to ...

Re: Introducing Chainsaw - 4hp polyphonic supersaw oscillator

I'm really digging this thing! Very happy to see that holding the encoder resets to C1, so useful! :sb:

One suggestion though, would it be possible to make a setting that turns the FM input into a digital VCA control? Finding stereo VCA's in my system can be a bit tricky. :tu:

Re: PSU buffer whatsit / WMD Soft Start

If you have narrowed it down to the specific module, then yes the soft start is a likely solution. The soft start waits to see that the power rails are at full power before turning the module on. Just make sure the power draw on the problematic module isn't over 500mA on either 12V power rail. It do...

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

Crud. I wonder if WMD made a Double Voltera, they could get it down to a single PCB? Looking at the side photos, I’m guessing not in 8hp. Here’s a question: does having four knobs—as opposed to one knob and four select buttons—really confer significant advantages? Watching the tutorial videos, I do...

When I had an Octatrack I would constantly reassign the tracks in completely different ways, so I figured I should be using an instrument who's interface centers around re-configuring the whole setup.

303 Style Filter Envelope Accent

Mult your filter envelope to a CVable switch or VCA. Run the output of the switch or VCA to a slew. Attenuate the output of the slew and sum with the filter envelope. Triggering the VCA/Switch is your "Accent Enable", the attenuator on the output of the slew is "Accent Amount". The shaping/rate on t...

Two kinds of dynamics which dont get enough attention are pulse and articulation. The pulse is a regular emphasis, regardless of how many notes are played. It is very related to danceability. Maybe this has been discussed in this forum, but since I couldn't find any clue from the manual: is there a trick to automatically load the last loaded sequence after a power cycle? There isn't, but I could make the "last loaded" cursor on the memory page save it's position on power cycle. That way...

Is it possible to adjust the levels of individual zones? Can't find it in the manual.
Yes, it's in the upper right hand corner of the level page, labeled "offset". It works the same way as individual zone pitch.

My biggest reason for using smaller setups is I can make individual voices more complicated, but still remember what they do. When I used 12U 104, I would have 3 or more fully fleshed out voices with cool complex modulations, but remembering what everything did in performance wasn't working out for ...

Wondering if anyone would share how they personally like to use the Linear AM 'ext env' setting on the level page? I turn it on and then put an envelope into the CV. I usually use this on infinitely looped samples (one-shot and the top looping mode) where I don't want the phase to restart.

Re: Modern groovebox dissatisfaction - Eurorack solution?

Anyone have any advice on creating a sort of, experimental groovebox (sample based, not just a Eurorack setup that grooves)? I love grooveboxes and look at my Eurorack as a groovebox. I would say in general, Euro grooveboxes are significantly more limited than a modern all in one solution. The limi...
