Re: Shortwave Radio (Evaton RF Nomad?)

An option to substituting a 10-turn pot in the module is to put one in a passive box, feed it an offset and plug into the CV in. this is a great idea. I have a 10 turn pot I got for free that is too big to fit inside the nomad. I will definitely give this a try. it is free so no worries. Sorry, muc...

Re: Good place to buy shakuhachi!!!

Shakshuka and shakuhachi, love them both.

OP good for you I hope it's a fruitful journey. I've toyed with the idea but I've never taken to any kind of traditional instrument and seriously lack discipline in that regard.

One of my favourite albums during that time period was a collaboration that Will did with Stefan Weisser aka Z'ev. Unfortunately not available these days. Stephen Hey man, Thanks for the info/stories. But whaddaya mean. Do you mean the "TO" moniker by Will Jackson & Z'EV, or Cellar-M (w/ Rex Probe,...

Re: NETFLIX Show using Buchla

Congrats, that's fantastic Justin!

I'd read an interview with the filmmakers that showed up in my news, and then Netflix started promoting it to me this past week, so it's been on my periphery. Hearing that a fellow wiggler is involved I'll be watching and listening for sure.

Re: Modules to Make Lustmord Style Drones?

Not to discourage but Lustmord is much less about the gear than his very focussed vision about the production style and what he wants to achieve. If you read interviews he'll say he went from using almost nothing to having huge amounts of rack gear and then to doing everything in software. I do reca...

Re: Superbooth 2020

Fortunately, if you miss the streams they're available for viewing later. Unfortunately -at least on Matrixsynth- the times listed for viewing various parts do not correspond to the video at all . At least the order is correct. Those were the proposed schedules. Updating timings have been posted, c...

Both Eowave and Bastl were on today. Check Hainbach's youtube channel.

Re: Gestural patching (Meng Qi style) - advice please!

Yes that's my hope for myself as well! Outside of modular I'm really drawn to synths that have their own coherent and distinct identity (I have a Plumbutter for instance). My aspiration with a case is for it to be very specific, and eventually several that interact as you mentioned. What form might...

Re: Gestural patching (Meng Qi style) - advice please!

Congrats SonarBk, it's a lovely looking and interesting piece. I'd considered it when it was for sale a couple years ago but ultimately decided against as I already had other gear where I can use those concepts (Vostok pin matrix, Landscape stereo field, and in a more limited capacity the Future sou...

anybody spot any analog frequency shifters? The Metro Modular guys had their 4U Buchla Dual Balanced Modulator and Phase Splitter at their booth. In talking to them they are trying to fill some niches in the Buchla 4U and also prototype in the larger format. If there's enough interest stuff could m...

I like the idea of the larger version but the price of the uVersion is more appealing and would make me more inclined to purchase. Personally I'd have to see the UI and the feature differences (if any) before making a decision. UI is a big factor with modules for me. Perhaps if earx could provide a...

Unfortunately if it's not worth it for you, it's unlikely worth it for anyone else to assemble one for you. Price per HP these cases are expensive but that's the cost for the portability and form factor. Not sure where you're located, there is this one that is similar but slightly larger for sale ri...

Of course films are a great source. Some of my favorite tracks from the 80's industrial sampling heyday are by Clock DVA. As a teenager I bought their The Act EP and it blew my mind because I thought some of the lengthy spoken word pieces were from "real" recordings. Later I learned they just had g...
