Re: Korg SQ-1 - cheap (less than £4) DIY eurorack mod

I'm going to do a similar mount soon, thanks for the tips. To my knowledge, the 1N4148 should drop about 0.7V, so I was thinking of using two in series. How did you get a 1.2 drop with a single one? That's exactly what I tried originally (two 1N4148 in series) but under the load the voltage drop wa...

Maybe this? PEDSCAN, Roman Sowa's micro standalone pedal controller. "This little board is a scanner of up to 32 contacts, translating their closings into MIDI notes. In addition it can take one analog input, like potentiometer, to add one Continuous Controller like swell or volume. Typical applica...

Old organ pedalboard - MIDI controller ideas

Hi All, I was given this organ pedal board. :nana: It comes from an old Italian electric organ (I don't know which model, not that it matters). Friend of mine kept it for years as it seems to be very good quality. It is rather heavy but it has a handle and it is not too big. I haven't looked inside ...

for MIDI to trigger conversion I use the fantastic Barton MIDI2GATE diy eurorack module. it is quite cheap to build. it takes a standard midi in and outputs 8 triggers or gates corresponding to midi notes 36-43

The brackets are reasonably easy to cut with a simple hacksaw. Make sure you also use a metal file to file the edges as they come out really sharp. Measure twice before you cut. And take your time cutting.

You should add some mults on the angle brackets! :sb: Yeah, that's the plan! Ran out of jack sockets the other day, need to but some more. Although with the mult on top it might get messy with the patch cables hanging in front of the sequencer. What's more tempting (but it would require permanent c...

Korg SQ-1 - cheap (less than £4) DIY eurorack mod

I always wanted to fit the Korg SQ-1 sequencer inside my Eurorack case to avoiding carrying yet another device. Following this thread on Mutable forum ( http://mutable-instruments.net/forum/discussion/7766/korg-sq-1-eurorack-conversion/p1 ), I bought a 20x25mm aluminium angle, 2mm thick. Turns out 2...

Re: 1 transistor "passive" VCA-ish thingy

I had an idea making a very simple 'passive' VCA-ish thingy a bit similar to the passive vactrol 'LPG' VCA. I tried this out and and it works in a nice and weird way. It's something in the middle of a VCA/distortion/waveshaper. I call it passive because it doesn't need a eurorack power connector. I...

Then I noticed that I hadn't soldered in IC5, only to find I had soldered IC5 where T1 goes.. I don't have ideal tools for reworking SMT stuff here so i guess my best bet i...

Miss 10 VCO calibration question - (ms10 vco clone by e.a.s)

Hi, I have just completed a build of the Miss 10 VCO v2.0 (pcb by e.a.s.). Everything works as intended, but I can't figure out how to calibrate this thing. I tried asking in the original thread but haven't received a reply. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64032&start=all&postdays=...

The 190 clone works: http://ebolatone.blogspot.com/2013/11/buchla-190-dual-reverberator-diy.html That's fantastic. Great job! Would you mind posting some audio samples? I'm interested especially in how the unit performs when saturated/overdriven by the input signal. How does it compare soundwise to...

I sampled the impulse responses from the Aaltoverb plugin (so Windows users can enjoy it too!)

I still wish someone with the real Buchla 190 sampled theirs.

calibration guide

Hi,

Thank you for the awesome project E.A.S.!

Is there a calibration guide available anywhere? I tried searching for it in this thread and in the rev 1 thread and I can't seem to find any info.

Thanks!

Re: [REQUEST] Impulse response - 190 Buchla reverb

if you use mac please check http://madronalabs.com/news/21 Thanks for that. I'm not on Mac but I'll try to sample impulse responses from the plugin. I also found this, which seems to be a pretty accurate representation of Accutronics springs: http://www.analoginthebox.com/product.php?id=1538 Unfort...

The 190 rocks. I don't have my clone set up to record; hopefully someone with an original will chime in. I may have an announcement regarding cloning the 190 in the next week or so. Looking forward to your announcement. I was told elsewhere that 190 uses a spring similar to Accutronics type 4. I'm ...

[REQUEST] Impulse response - 190 Buchla reverb

I'm looking for impulse responses from the 190 reverb module from Buchla system. Could anyone with access to Buchla system record some? Alternatively can anyone recommend a reverb plugin/IR that sounds similar? The reverb section in Aalto by Madrona Labs is fantastic but it doesn't take external inp...

I just upgraded to b9. I love the new layout of effects!

After the upgrade the 3rd waveform pot changes the pitch instead of the waveform. Is this an expected behaviour? The 3rd pot was working fine in previous beta.
