Hmm, the idea of an updated 225e with wireless connectivity and a USB jack on the breakout panel presents itself.

Re: Richard Lainhart’s Buchla 200e patch

I also looked at that patch and reconsidered the 261e FM input. Here is a track I made from that time. The flute sound is the effect of external FM on the 261e. Full patch description included.

Re: 251e sample and hold issue

Surprising as it may seem, my 281e’s pulse outputs have no trouble triggering my 251e and it doesn’t freak out. I don’t know if this has to do with manufacture date. Both of my 281e’s were manufactured after 2015. I heard something about early 281e’s outputting higher voltages than more recent mode...

You can't use 281e pulses on the 251e. They freak it out.

1. How to I change the internal bussing? Mine doesn’t have an sw switch that can be switched to “A” or “B”. There are two switches, so a total of four positions are possible: on/on, on/off, off/on, and off/off. These allow you to select one the four buses. You can press and hold the remote button t...

Re: Buchla 261e Problem?

I have orderd a Silabs and will try to get a firmware reload done. Hope it works. Is it sure, that I don’t need a special cable or adapter to connect the sislab to the 261e? You can see more info about that special connector here. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=102690 Regard...

Re: 200e power supply - nailing it down

My question is: +15 and -15 are the "official" power rails for 200e modules. But is the +12 supply available also? I'd like to use the +12 to run tube heaters, since it appears to be fed directly from the AC power brick. Then -15v would be fine for the negative supply. Also, can anyone give an idea...

Re: Buchla 252e - Thoughts and general use ?

So even at 480bpm I can barely get 16th notes out of this -- I'm obviously missing something? Something else I've run into is that my whole system (200e-24 case) locks up if I let it run long enough. It's a mix of E and non-E but nothing particularly exotic. There's a 250e and 252e, and I did try t...

I was thinking of this thread. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=133082&hilit=usb+midi "NOTE: You need to have a PresetManager (225e or 206e) in your system for this to work. Don't you need a preset manager for this to work, i.e., 225e or 206e? (Doesn't seem to work with the 282e.)
The firmware card puts MIDI messages on the bus. No interaction with a preset manager.

Re: Are Buchla Oscillators quantized?

Was wondering if the Buchla oscillators are quantized and how well do they track if controlled by external gear? Yes the 261e and 259e are quantized, but not in the way you want. They jump in roughly 0.5Hz amounts. Regarding 1.2v/oct tracking, since that is probably what you are asking, not so well...

Re: Bucha 275r - noise culprit found?

Maintaining separate grounds in the layout is hard, and many designers either connect them at at least one point or provide jumpers for it. Either way it's a mistake and probably an attempt to solve noise issues caused by the separate grounds. In any case, eliminating N GND won't solve the problem b...

Re: Bucha 275r - noise culprit found?

I suspect the reason some folks have more issues than other is entirely dependent on the other modules in their system - and what else is being fed to NGND. The 266e produces a lot of noise on Q GND and the 275r certainly amplifies it. Removing the 266e reduces the noise. I am not familiar with the...

Re: Buchla Newbie - cabinet config question / Modules

Or is there another way to better wave shape its output? The alternative is an 18 modules system with extra oscillators. It's been a while since I have used a 230e, so that might be a fine idea, but since you seem to be considering a 291e and you are looking for more voices, you can use the 291e pa...

Doug! That was a masterpiece of clarity. If only you had written the 200e manual! On another note, I am looking to get a sequencer that will advance a single note on a pulse, and no further. I want to branch into electro acoustic and use an envelope follower to trigger a new event with each loud st...

251e plus slew. Set up four two stage sequences at different step durations. Or use four step sequences to slow even further, and so on. I use the 251e for this kind of timing all the time, almost exclusively.

Re: 251e gremlins (again)

Not sure this is related, and it's not clear in your post if you are doing this, but whenever I run 281e pulses to the 251e the 251e freaks out. The problem as I understand it is that the 281e pulses, which are 15V in magnitude, are too much for the 251e. Note all other pulses in the system are 10V ...

Am I reading above that the internal bus's outputs are quantized correctly but the external channels are not. Yes in the case that the 225e delivers MIDI note information to the e-oscillators, the oscillators seem to do very well playing the correct pitch. Meanwhile, the 225e CV outs are not 1.2V p...
