AVP MAD-5 MIDI Learn problem
I have a Mk1 MAD-5 but having trouble getting it to work because MIDI learn doesn't seem to be working on it. (Start up while holding the button, the light flashes, I send a MIDI signal but the flashing keeps on going; also tried sending midi note info on channels 1-16 and couldn't get it to go from...

Thanks gahlord - appreciate your thoughts! My thinking right now is that the following behavior might be the way to go: [learn mode] learns sequence, probability of 0 resets sequence and begins learning again [play mode] locks sequence and allows for probability of 0 without learning/modifying the ...

What you outline above would work great for me, Greg. I'd probably leave it in "Learn" mode most of the time and throw a gate/switch at the Probability CV to flip into "Play" mode. [If I am get real fancy, I'll attenuate the switch/gate so it gives me the probability I want, or use the switch/gate t...

I'm getting ready to mod mine to change the learn/play from a switch to a jack (to control with a gate instead of my fingers). What's the voltage that whatever is connected to the switch is expecting? I asked on Twitter earlier but can't find the answer. Figure this is someplace people will look for...

It's the Oracle eurorack module http://pucktronix.com/eurorack/the-oracle/
The designer told me via Tw that the thing receiving from the switch is expecting between 0-3.3v
So I'm guessing I'll need something on it to keep whatever I jam in the new jack below 3.3v?

Basic: How to replace a switch with a gate jack?
Hey everyone, Noob question here, I searched for "replace switch with gate jack" and all kinds of variants but came up empty. I'm hoping one of you can help me out or point me in the right direction. There's a module I really like except for one thing: It has a little switch that I really wish were ...

I did a quick re-test of things and removed an amp that I often use from the signal chain, running from my euro box, to DI, to Neve88 (Lunchbox!), to AD converter. The OWL module is clean in this setting. For reference I'm including an image generated in Rx, the first audio chunk is without the OWL ...

Edit: See post below, on further testing the noise requires one of my amps in order to be present, so I will sort it out with the amp maker, the OWL is clean. I have one of these and like it very much. I do, however, get a pretty audible whine whenever I include it in a patch. I understand this is p...

they're definitely not super-cheap, but then it's a small company and a niche market within an already fairly niche market I have small cases and am absolutely into the most-function-in-the-smallest-space crowd. I have the EON and love the general functionality but don't care much for the sound of ...

Knowing a little more about where you're at and what you're up to here's what I'd say: Just get one oscillator right now. Any of the ones mentioned in this thread would be great; they all have little bits of magic in them. Go through the thread, make a list of the oscillators and then just pick one ...

Burglars do sometimes do multiple break-ins. The first break-in is exploratory, with opportunistic grabs of cash or easily flipped items. After the first break-in, they have the layout and an inventory, and time to research anything unknown they may have seen, such as eurorack. Look in to some impr...

I also recommend start slow. I went too fast and got all sorts of stuff I didn't need/understand. To start: two VCOs, An LFO, A Filter, a couple VCAs and one "strange thing/effect." That gets you a standard "voice" and you can add/adjust from there. One thing I would recommend looking into is someth...

I've got the Sisters and it is definitely my favorite. Love feeding one LFO or envelope into the resonance and spread CV. Not sure if it will do the thing you want. But I love mine. For classic pass I have the Moog Minitaur (which is standard Moog ladder and you can get into it with a mini to 1/8th ...

Hey everyone, I have a new radio show on WRUVFM 90.1 in Burlington VT and wruv.org streaming. During the show I do some live electronic "experimentation" (aka, fiddle with knobs and wires). If you're looking at pedals perhaps give the Iron Ether Nimbus a look. It goes from slapback to Cistern Chapel. Also, it has two filters to control the low part of the verb and the high part of the verb. As a bass instrument guy, I find that "fat and warm" in reverbs translates into "bucket of mud" ...

it sounds faulty, use warranty? I tried with the new MCC, new firmware and the special OS X update process and it seems to work mostly now. At least it doesn't crash randomly. It still crashes if I touch the roller strip. Maybe I'll glue something over it so I don't accidentally bump it. Or maybe I...
