Re: Logic Pro vs Ableton for eurorack

I switched over to Ableton from Logic about 7 years ago, after using Logic for 3 years. It was around the time I got into modular. As suggested by others, the audio and MIDI are very flexibly routed; it might be possible in Logic using the environment, but I could never really grasp that. It's very ...

Re: Sequentix Cirklon

Yeah I think with the move to V2 they’re hoping to move faster, get caught up with orders and eventually be working in real time... they probably could’ve taken money for pre-orders, invested that capital in speeding things up by growing their operation, but they chose not to take that path. Persona...

Re: Sequential Pro 3

is the ladder filter on the Pro 3 supposed to always sound distorted? i just got one a couple weeks ago (new) and the ladder filter is pretty much a distortion generator and i'm wondering if it's broken. for example, take preset bank P8 patch 85 (super soft? or something like that)... load it up.. ...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

You can use a MIDI to CV converter that supports polyphony like Yarns or Shuttle Control. You have 8 voices in Assimil8or. If you put the same sample across all voices you could have 8 notes of polyphony. I posted this a while back. I’ll see if I can dig it up. Edit: here you go. https://www.instagr...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

I’m pretty sure that error only comes up when the device is not recognized. That’s really weird. It does power up right? Perhaps stupid question but I’ve forgotten to plug in power before haha (I use a small case I keep for testing and updating). As an aside is that a legit pickit? Mine says pickit ...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

I updated successfully using mplab 5.35 on OS X 10.15.3. I'm using a Pickit3 btw. Ha, not to add salt to the wound, but I updated a PH mk III, HD mk III and two Kermit mk IIIs in less than 30 minutes. For the most part I've found updates pretty easy once installing the necessary software. BUT, my Ma...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

Hi guys. First post here :) I made some videos on Iridium and will be continuing them for a while. Ask any questions or requests in the comment section of YouTube. Iridium's internal memory for samples has only 596 MB available after the installed factory samples. Doesn't really matter because you ...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

OK, I´m still don´t get it 2 Gb of sample storage or sample RAM? or it´s the same? The Iridium/Quatum load the samples into RAM or internal drive from SD/USB stick or just read directly from them? For me all this are important to my workflow They can read directly from the USB/microSD just for audi...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

Checking the specs.... Iridium has 2gb of sample memory. Quantum has 4gb. Prophet X has 200 gb. Haha, it's no contest. Prophet X 200 gb is how much space is on the SSD for samples. 50 gb is user, 150 gb is preset. You have to use an app to put user content on the drive. On the iridium you use an SD...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

Why are people saying you can't have multi samples in the Iridium? I don't have one to explore (yet) but I read the manual and it is possible to set key ranges for samples. Multiple press releases mention using the resonator on multi samples from flash memory. I didn’t say it was not possible, I sa...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

There's no adjusting the envelope responses. It doesn't seem like you can define wether the LFO resets with each note or not. Unless I misunderstand you: Envelope response: Manual p. 101-102 on curve types. LFO: Manual p.108 on Phase Nice, I did not think to look at phase to create a free running L...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

Ok, so I got many hours in with the Iridium today. Here's my take: - Over all, the hardware feels good. The buttons do have some wiggle to them, so with use they look a little crooked. It is very subtle but if you look for it, you'll see it. Knobs are super sturdy. The screen is actually reasonably ...

I spent the better part of the day working with the Iridium. I'll post my thoughts later, but I'm very impressed so far. This is a really flexible and capable machine. I received my Iridium today. I only got 30 minutes in with it, so I don't have a ton to say yet. My very first impressions are that I agree that the color pads are hideous. Re: ACL Sinfonion

Metron is pretty neat, but one thing to keep in mind is that—because the tracks cannot be on different clock divisions—it can require some extra thought if you want to use Metron for both percussion sequencing and overall track control jobs. I’m wrestling a little with this. Metron and Vector are v...
