Re: Microgranny alternatives

Roland Scooper is pretty amazing. There isn't a built in microphone but it records hi fidelity audio up to 10sec and can process under cv control, and is also a virtual modular using the customizer app. I regret selling mine, but I went back to microgranny for the longer sampling and lo fi works for...

Re: Will Behringer Devalue Moog?

technologear said, "Buying well/premium kills GAS for that particular instrument role. But if I buy from a lower tier like B, I always think "maybe I should upgrade this to something better...". Which eventually I do. Doing this repeatedly over the years has led to me wasting literally $1000s and wa...

I wonder if this issue would affect using it as usb controller for arturia's standalone version of Buchla Easel V. I have hoped I can use it to simulate the easel's touch keyboard. Sounds like that might not be so simple.

Good to see positive comments about Microfreak as a controller keyboard. I recently went ahead and bought a license for Arturia's Buchla Easel V (after finally accepting that I will never possess a hardware version ...$$$) and when I saw the MF keyboard it dawned on me that it might do as a stand in...

I regret selling the Karp I had. A great synth with the most playable UI (disregarding the pressure pads). A rather brilliant design IMO up there with the Buchla Music Easel. With the 3 filters you have all 3 revisions. Don't know how the sound compares to the 2600, but it sounded damn good to me. O...

Does anyone know if the audio input will trigger the envelopes with this version? My old pro one did and I used it a lot.

Wow, it's amazing what some of these offer, but with increasing menu diving and other complexity. Makes me think a patch bay isn't such a bad idea!

I have Beatstep and Microgranny. I had the same problem and wasn't able to get it to work. Didn't work with the SQ1 either. It seems like it should go down far enough, but I don't know, guess not.

No one in this thread has said the SE-02 is just a minimoog clone. I'm not sure where you are getting that from. anselmi for example listed its increased feature set. It is influenced by it though as anselmi also pointed out. I guess I was reading too much into the Behringer competition and thinkin...

I was just looking at the Arturia Microfreak...may be a contender if the different synthesis types are taken into acount. Maybe not modulation routing in the main sense, but there's a decent mod matrix also. A very interesting synth.

How about the Evolver?

Which non-patchbay synths most flexible mod routings?

I am thinking mostly of analog, but not necessarily.

Of synths I've had I am thinking maybe ARP Odyssey? But there's a lot of newer synths I don't know much about.

my post got lost...weird, well it was too long to rewrite now. Anyway I think there's more to it than competition from Behringer.

And I still maintain SE-02 is not just a minimoog clone. It goes well beyond that. But the Boog most certainly is and I can see some overlap with the SE-02.

I've never thought the SE-02 was in competition with anything from Behringer, any more or less than any other manufacturer. Superficially the SE-02 might seem similar to the boog model D, but it is not a clone like that. Very much it's own thing due to the combination of Roland and Studio Electronic...

Whatever happened to Rolands' "designer" series

I have the Roland/Studio Electronics SE-02, and it's a fine little synth. At the time I bought it, Roland was touting it as the "first" of their collaborative "designer" series. Never have heard another word of more to come, boutique or otherwise. Either their marketing dept dropped the idea, or nev...

monovibes , run the cv to input B of the attenuater utility. Then take a+b out and connect to the pitch input of source. Play octaves on kbd and adjust the attenuator knob until your octave is tuned. Then pitch will track. You may need to transpose though as C may not be in tune...I haven't checked ...

I've abandoned modular for semi for a couple years now because I wanted an instrument that could be an extension of myself in the way my guitar is. Though my objective is in, I suppose the "avant-garde" realm, I am pretty much an abstract expressionist and the machine music aspect of modular loses i...
