If you have a small system and/or lack some CV generators, Tides is the best choice since it can be used in every patch, at the very least as an extra CV source. Warps is generally much more specialized for certain tasks, except perhaps the crossfade feature which also may be handy in every patch.

I absolutely agree on the Amphions, I've worked on them in a studio not far away from where I live. No bells and whistles, just the stuff you need for mixing. Sure, they don't play that loud, but as soon as you hear them you won't care.
