Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit

I will say this.. I was super interested in this when it was first announced. I asked him if I could get on a waiting list for it without paying upfront (or possibly a portion amount). He said no and asked why. I said there were a number of instances of people paying upfront (one very notable case i...

Re: warmest sounding complex oscillator?

out of curiosity, does the lack of vactrols in the new verbos complex oscillator change the sound at all from the vactrol one?

Re: WaveEdit to Serum?

Ah, so that's what that bar is for, thanks wintchil! However, it still seems to be off by some amount as the further I go through the wavetable i notice the zero crossings start to shift. So in some latter single cycle frame I will get part of the frame from the single cycle before it and the curren...

Re: WaveEdit to Serum?

Coming from wave edit there are 64 (I believe) single cycle waveforms being exported. I will have to check and see if serum allows me to import only 64.

Re: Whats the best digital oscillator (Buchla-ish) ?

Cš-L doesn't sound precise, cold, and/or harsh! Who told you that? i think the wave folding on it does have a very harsh sound compared to the warmth of the 259. main reason i moved on from it, count get down with the wavefolder's sound. Yeah I was just kidding with her, I couldn't resist. I don't ...

Re: Whats the best digital oscillator (Buchla-ish) ?

You could always just get the softube buchla and pipe the audio out of your computer into your modular

Edit: and it's on sale right now

Re: WaveEdit to Serum?

thanks rjugemann, I've tried every import method on Serum. The problem I keep getting is that Serum is chopping up the waveforms and I would assume as you stated that is because Serum offers more waveform windows than WaveEdit is putting out (64). I was just hoping there was something I was overlook...

Re: WaveEdit to Serum?

thanks for the reply.

I have seen on other forums that users have successfully gotten waveedit tables into serum, unfortunately they didn't go into detail. I was just hoping someone on muffs might know how to do it easily.

I personally like physical sliders. They are more tactical and your intentions seems to translate better.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I agree with mdoudoroff. You still have some time and even if it's a little late, it would be much better to not have to buy any expansion modules in the future. I'm not sure what that would do to your costs for this project, but it would be better in the long run.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

a dedicated clock input and a reset input are a must for me. Personally I always use my hardware with a clock from Ableton Live to keep things synced. Could you clarify that this is possible?? Edit: Nevermind I checked the Kickstarter and I now see this is possible. really looking forward to this mo...

Thanks again for the replies! Don't get me wrong I love analog synths (and digital) and own many, I'm just projecting out into the future and thinking that this whole debate (which has thankfully largely gone away) about the differences between analog and digital will one day be a moot point because...

Just found this out, but apparently there is debate among physicists at to whether or not reality is actually analog or digital in nature... seems the current consensus is that it's more analog than digital... anyways...

Thanks for the thoughtful reply rjungemann & rowsbywoof! Its interesting to think about. As far as I am aware quantum computing is capable of creating truly random numbers. Extrapolating from that and as far as I understand it, a true "virtual" analog model could then be recreated in software as it'...

Quantum Computing and Virtual Analog

It's a very intriguing idea, in that future analog gear would be truly obsolete other than interface.

Imagine an SP-1200 remake (as I have banged on about for awhile) with a nearly identical sound (as close as can be gotten), but with the option for a “clean” output as well. It's already in the making, Isla Instruments is doing it, the SP2400 (https://www.islainstruments.com/product/sp-2400/) Check...
