Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

I agree with mdoudoroff. You still have some time and even if it's a little late, it would be much better to not have to buy any expansion modules in the future. I'm not sure what that would do to your costs for this project, but it would be better in the long run.

Re: FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer Launching Soon on Kickstarter

a dedicated clock input and a reset input are a must for me. Personally I always use my hardware with a clock from Ableton Live to keep things synced. Could you clarify that this is possible?? Edit: Nevermind I checked the Kickstarter and I now see this is possible. really looking forward to this mo...

Didn't look closely enough, no wonder they are being sold for $7,500.... BUT maybe they see the demand and will hopefully do a new one. Oh well...

Thanks again for the replies! Don't get me wrong I love analog synths (and digital) and own many, I'm just projecting out into the future and thinking that this whole debate (which has thankfully largely gone away) about the differences between analog and digital will one day be a moot point because...

Just found this out, but apparently there is debate among physicists at to whether or not reality is actually analog or digital in nature... seems the current consensus is that it's more analog than digital... anyways...

Thanks for the thoughtful reply rjungemann & rowsbywoof! Its interesting to think about. As far as I am aware quantum computing is capable of creating truly random numbers. Extrapolating from that and as far as I understand it, a true "virtual" analog model could then be recreated in software as it'...

From someone who has worked on a project using a quantum computer, and after being in the room with the modern quantum computer's hulking mass, (though haven't gotten anywhere near interfacing with it), and seeing how large of an operation you need to keep it cool, and the ridiculous amounts of spa...

Quantum Computing and Virtual Analog

It's a very intriguing idea, in that future analog gear would be truly obsolete other than interface.

Imagine an SP-1200 remake (as I have banged on about for awhile) with a nearly identical sound (as close as can be gotten), but with the option for a “clean” output as well. It's already in the making, Isla Instruments is doing it, the SP2400 (https://www.islainstruments.com/product/sp-2400/) Check...

There are all sorts of things about the making of synthesizers and drum machines I don’t understand. My thinking about a SP-1200 remake is probably similar to all the other companies that have chose to recreate some of these classics. 2nd hand prices for one are crazy high and why let extortionists ...

It's just that the MC707 is SO close to what I imagined a SP-1200 remake could be (check above)... like to the point were I feel like Roland engineers looked at my post and made it... so close yet so far. If it had the crunch and grit of the SP-1200 (& analog filters), along with the other stuff it'...

Rossum makes eurorack modules. I like the idea of samplers in eurorack and I don’t need sequencer in it. So U want something that is not Assimil8or. Nothing wrong about it. No, I want a Roland/Rossum MC-1200... or a an SP-1200 remake with some more modern trickery. That's all. I'm sure everyone wou...

Now imagine if Dave made it instead with 12-bit converters (or the option to switch them in our out) and all the other stuff I mentioned above (analog filters, etc..) WOULD SELL LIKE CRAZY!!!!! he actually did that and even better, because it's not limited to 12-bit. nothing stops u from adding ana...

Just imagine... Dave re-releases the SP1200, with the character of the original (as close as he can get). 8 CV trigger outs that could feed triggers to the assimil8or. 16 total tracks, 8 for playing the samples in the SP1200 re-issue and a further 8 for the assimil8or (This could be handled by havi...

Just wanted to start this thread. Looks great in my opinion and brings a bunch of long requested sequencer updates. Also, Reason as a plugin (specifically as an FX plugin) in the DAW will be amazing!

reanimating this old thread.. regarding the ES-3 ... i read that it gives out "cv"-signals.. is it also able to output gates and triggers in combination with cv-signals or do i need an expander for that? Yes it will out put gates/triggers at the same time it's outputting CV. I often use 4 separate ...
