I have an Assimil8or, EMAX, and E64 I can say for sure that the Assimil8or definitely has the E-MU sound, but a version of it. each of the three to me occupy a similar space, but with differences due to the different time periods they were made in i would not say that the assimil8or sounds 100% like...

just picked up a sprott as my first dip of the toe and it's definitely enlightening

as just a filter its certainly nice sounding, but the addition of the chaos circuit and chaos pass outputs brings it to a whole new level.

touch control like the lyra or landscape stereo field would be cool. control of timbre as well as pitch.

Just chiming in again - yes the quantum filters are dope and continue to be. They sound as good as the filter in my EMAX easily. EMAX maybe slightly creamier I agree, the analog filters in the Quantum sound great. I usually run them in "dirty" mode, which adds a lot more character than the default ...

take a look at the gotharman stuff, I have the little deformer 3 and it really feels like a super elektron

i think if I started today I would favor modules that feel like an 'instrument' over highly complex modules stuff with a lot of control and playability anything with too many menus, button combos, etc is a big headache and basically the opposite thing from what I want to patch these days was a long ...
