Re: Bastl Spa expander for GrandPa, DIY help

It looks pretty good to me. I'd clean up the boards and see whether that improves the situation.

Not sure the best way to check whether the chips are functioning correctly, obviously if you have any dupes that you know work you could sub them in.

Has bastl gotten back to you?

Re: Bastl Spa expander for GrandPa, DIY help

Hi, I built one of these that works.

Can you post pics of the tops and bottoms of each pcb
And a pic of the module as you have it connected to the grandpa?

Thanks!

No kidding! Janost made a lot of bad crap with poor documentation. It was almost impossible for me to get once of his designs working without "bending" it because of poor building instructions and bad customer service. I realize that I am lucky to have been one of his customers who actually received...

Thonk ships to the US. I've ordered from them several times, and get their stuff faster than some US based eurorack sellers. Shipping is not unreasonable.

looks nice

how are you powering it?

i have a bsp and, while i don't want to mount it, i have been thinking about how i would route the back jacks into a small breakout module that would go into my rack. I think it would contribute to less clutter and be easier to plug into

You may have already tried this, but have you tried reflowing the joints? One of the resistors in your pic could be a little wetter on top.

They already have your money. Wear that shirt with pride.
They don't have flame retardant, so best not to wear it near a Deluxe Power
Or anywhere near the internet :deadbanana:
