Re: Sooooo frustrated with threaded strips

I’ve only had sliding nuts, but if you add one essential tool it is quite easy. A toothpick. I use it to align the screws by putting it through the holes in the module and get each in perfect position. I’ve only had one time where all my nuts were over to the left under other modules. All in all I w...

If you want to know what’s best for customers, you study what they do, you don’t just ask them. Famous quote of Steve Jobs about people not even knowing what they want until they see it. Also, there was a somewhat well known study where they measured which user interface was most efficient and usab...

Re: Best square wave VCO?

I also have to add my 2 cents in here for Studio Electronics. I have the Oscillation module and it is just super solid and playable, and I find myself coming back to it constantly. This may sound stupid, but it feels like a really nice "pure" place to start when building a sound...or at least that'...

Oscillation by Studio Electronics is a wonderful VCO that is plenty versatile, tracks great, and sounds great!
I LOVE mine and will some day get a second. The sound is often so surprising. Truly one of my most satisfying modules.

Re: the Eurorack manufacturer COMMANDMENTS

I used to work for a large IT company and a group tried to implement UI standards. Some were good and based on good usability, but it soon morphed into a little den of tyranny that often stifled innovative ideas.

I’m also into woodworking and have accumulated tools worth the price of a new car. People also love bashing Festool (et al) for its price/exclusivity. Wait is Festool the eurorack of tools? Well, it's very difficult to respond to your previous message. Was it sarcasm? Was it self-deprecating humor? Remember Poe's law on the internet: we can't hear your intonation. To keep a thread going you want to phrase your point constructively, and in such a way that it invites response. Alas my s...

Re: The Eurorack Bashers

To the OP I don’t know who these people are, but what do they really represent? Bitterness, failure, judgement or maybe it just wasn’t their thing. I have about 5k into my rack, but I have spent far more on a guitar, amp and pedals. Look at other creative hobbies. Photography! Holy cow, you can spen...

Re: Behringer Go eurorack case

My sanctimonious sense of unique artistry and ultra hip non conformity prevent me from considering the purchase of this case, though I am now troubled as perhaps buying this case could be a powerful demonstration of how unique and non conforming my artistry and hipness actually are! It is so hard be...

Re: Favorite 4HP envelope generator?

At 6hp you get 4 EG with the NE Pons Asinorum. I really like mine. Super good UI and very useful. It's like a miniturized Quadra. I so wanted to post about mine, but didn’t want to violate the 4hp limit. I really like mine and it is next to a Doepfer ADSR and Maths. I feel I have envelopes covered....

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

Nice patch! I like using the 0-Coast with an SQ1 or Rene etc, but a 3 channel analog sequencer can be so much more immediate for some styles of patching. Especially including its own clock and having smart modulation for that on one of the rows is interesting to me. Yup I’m definitely not getting r...

Re: Did your Modular Grid go as planned?

I came into this as a newbie and used Modulargrid, but without real knowledge or even feedback from others it kind of served as the ultimate GAS aid. It was fun, but other than arrangement, sizing things, power requirements, it simply can’t (alone) tell you what your rack will do or not do. That’s w...

I might get crucified here for saying this, but do you have any experience with music software? ------ snip a LOT of *really* good points-------- I’m thinking the software route is the best bet by far of giving you controls you can see and letting you get in to being musical at a low cost. What do ...

Wow so many posts. It’s a drag Arturia does not respond to the Windows accessibility features. It SHOULD. I suppose we could threaten to sue them. I’m half joking, but it is often the only thing that will impact change. Few software companies or developers realize that addressing accessibility early...
