Used to hate that wick. Learned to use it and now will only go to the sucker when absolutely necessary - for something like this especially - IC socket - wick will save you, sucker just won't happen and pads will likely be a destroyed mess if you do finally get it out.

Seems like what a lot of people are talking about when they say 'polyrhythm' is really poly meter. So - polyrhytm like dude was just saying is going to be something like 5 against 4 - 5 *equally spaced* notes in the space of a measure of a 4/4 passage is a polyrhthm for instance. Other people who ar...

Ok thanks for the input gentlemen (gentlepersons?), No fun in mixing the outputs? I reckoned some VCAing of these should be more interesting than regular static mixing. No built in mixer it is. With a mixer you can have different filter responses besides LP. You can do it externally. It is definite...

Want to make sure I understand this correctly - One diode goes between the wiper pin of the trimmer and the pad that wiper was going to (anode on the trimmer side, cathode on the pad side) - the other diode has anode at ground, and cathode going to that same pad as the other diode - is that right?

:guinness: So modintx and I have been having fun comparing notes on this build as we've gone along- some similar gotchas here and there - namely with the the vcfq and the mixer. On the mixer - so the thing works mostly great right out the gate, but the top end of the pot travel for both of us was of...

modintx and I got together today for some messing around, have a bunch of stuff to sift through, but here's a quicky bit showing one of the oscsthem going through the vcfq and then into the fader, and the other side of the fader using the ringmod, followed by copious amount of FM. More to come in th...

Another thing - on my DCSM the gain on the mixer was waaayy too hot too fast on the last like 7/8 or so of travel - I asked Ken about it and he advised lowering the value of those 5.6k's hung off the back of the board - has to do with the gain from the transistors selected (547's and 557's in mine, ...

heads up on those angled headers - on the panner board that has the 1 TL074 you may not want to solder them flush as in that picture up there, back it off a couple mm on those 2 boards or you'll be needing to bend them back to not lean into the sub-board next to it.. Flush on the others works well.
