Re: Never meet your heroes

I have a dislike for signature guitars, amps, and pedals. I bought a used signature guitar once (Ibanez Joe Satriani something-or-other) for about $1k and turned it around for the same price in about a week because it was so “not me.” I didn’t think it would turn me into Joe or something like that, ...

Re: Recommend your weirdest craziest FX machine ever

The weirdest effect processor thing I own in stand-alone hardware is probably a Bastl Thyme.

I always thought it would be amazing if Sonic Charge were to manage to make a hardware version of their Permut8 plugin.

Re: Mutools Mulab, Mux Modular

Hmm, thanks for the reminder. I bought Mux a long time ago, got into building some basic synths with it, then sort of forgot about it. Does anyone know if Mux supports audio feedback now? It did not when I got into it. I see audio rate modulation of parameters listed as a feature but I am not clear ...

Re: Cheap pedals worth having

I did a lot of trading pedals in and out of my guitar pedal board when I was still really into guitar. Ibanez makes a nice flanger pedal that you can probably get used for under $100 (FL9). It is basically the same as the Mason FL9. I have this thing called a Subdecay Stupid Box that is probably dis...

Re: Do you reckon there will be a Sequential Pro3 Desktop module?

I put “probably not.” It seems more like a player’s synth than a synth that sits as a module.

If you are looking for a DSI something-or-other, I would pick the one that is closest to what you want and learn to work with it.

Re: Cherry Audio free software for Covid-19 hunkerers

cheers for the heads-up - this is ok for a little freebie. One question to anyone else using it : I can't use it in my DAW ( Live ) on either my Mac or Windows machine - it'll only run standalone which severly limits it's usefulness. The Voltage Modular Bundles / .dll plug-in files are in the corre...

Klevgrand plugins

Does anyone have any opinions? Modley seems interesting. It is their take on a modular delay system. Their instruments are minimalistic but interesting and they have bundles. There is a sale going on with a code RobinHood. I think you need to hit a threshold spending or number of plugins to get the ...

Re: Prophet Rev 2 Desktop...or similar

I have the original P’08 PE rack. It makes a nice companion to any of the four voice Elektron sequencers. You can do four note chords with one layer and a thick unison bass with the other.

The Peak is more versatile for sound design. In my opinion. In typical wiggles fashion, I have both.

Re: Sudden GAS attack for a Waldorf Quantum, send help!

I started obsessing about the Quantum this week. I have been working from home for over two weeks now and am just starting to feel weird. This thread helped. I had the internal discussion that actually did lead to the idea of mixing modules up a bit, adding a few more, and taking steps to assemble t...

Re: Polyend teaser : sampling groovebox?

I love Loopop’s reviews but I grew disinterested in this thing by about the halfway point. I just don’t see myself enjoying using it. I would say that in general if I “stay” until the end of one of his reviews, it pretty much means I am going to buy the item at some point or I already own it and am ...

Re: Quarantined for 2 months with one synth...

That’s way over budget... It's £449 in the UK at Juno Music. That was about US$540 before today's Sterling crash - probably even less now... It was around $500 even earlier today. I got an email from them that says they are still processing orders and shipping. I got mine from them for $480 and it ...

oof. yeah. that's another thing, beyond it would have been nice to go black on steps for sharps/flats, it would be aweeeeesome to have octave up and down knobs/pads. and i know sacrifices had to be made to keep it so inexpensive, but the pads suuuuuuck. good thing i'm probably in the top five worst...

They made too many teasers. I think one or two max is fun. After that it is time to shit or get off the pot.

I just haven’t found the iPad to be a very useful tool for me for making music other than noodling. Your personal satisfaction might be different. Other than very basic things like reading, email, forums, YT, and other social media, the one place I have found an iPad Pro with the pencil V2 to be use...

Excited to see what is it, a new unit that combines the machinedrum and monomachine sounds and functionality would be dope. :hihi:
Oh I don’t think they will ever do that. It makes to much sense, too many people want it, and too many people would buy it. :sarcasm:

Hmm, it looks like Audiothingies DoubleDrummer got discontinued already. I was going to suggest sequencing one of those using your OT. They are small and inexpensive. Edit: Another option would be an older synth that hat has drum maps, like the Waldorf Micro-Q. It looks like they have gone up a bit ...

Re: Desktop Prophet 12 coming

I still have my P’12 KB. I wish it had the architecture of the Pro-2 (dual filter path and modulation sequencer) but it is a fine synth nonetheless.

I thought about replacing it with a module but the module just doesn’t appear to have the same workflow.

Would anyone care to comment on using Medusa as an MPE controller? That's obviously not the sole or even main reason I would buy the Medusa (the amazing price from Juno is!), but it would be a nice cherry on top. Thanks for any thoughts / feedback! Bumping. Anyone using Medusa as an MPE controller?...

Talking to a couple of music making friends, this is seems to be a HIGHLY divisive synth. Instant want to some, biggest MEH ever to others. Whichever camp you're in, from my perspective Korg is to be applauded for revisiting this form of synthesis in hardware hardware form. I am in the middle. It i...
