for those in the considering 5089.

This is a sequence where the bass is pretty much an oscillator getting caressed by the 5089.

For my intended purpose did a side by side comparison. Braids emulates white noise and it is super close and for most intended purpose would probably work fine.

I think I will keep the lantern because the other easily accessable noise sources that won't use up filers from the get go to reproduce

thanks much

The modules in question is whether I can remove a Mr. Blue lantern for a braids since braids has noise options.

I usually use noise for snares and mono spashes

Digital noise vs. analog noise in euro and should I care?

Seems that honestly I shouldn't but haven't tested them side by side.
I imagine random is random and both can do exactly the same.

I finally got a chance to check out some of the boomstar modules this weekend. Very nice indeed. The 4075 filter, particularly, is quite special. I was also impressed with their Amp module (is this what you're referring to fusionid?) yes indeed. I miss the 4075 but find the 5089 so musically useful...

depends what you want obviously. The sto has additional bass. I went that route originally and didn't find it as useful. The sto can produce that droppable bass line which can be helpful in techno. Personally I am much happier with something much much different instead and I currently pair mine with...

PSA

Just tested the included tiptop labeled power supply

It is putting out 20 to 21 volts DC :woah:

The amps are around 950 to 1 A so that does add up

I have a decent voltmeter and testing other devices around the house make sense.

I just wanted to report back on 2 units I currently have 5089 filter . Very nice filter with lots of warm. Overall it is a very wide range of gain at input. Meaning that dramatically different tones can be obtained by variation in the input. I guess the best way to describe it is that it is extra dy...

I got 3 days or so on the 5089 and so far I am happy with it but was never able to find a demo.

Maybe I should do one :hmm:

I also placed an order for the VCA. That overdrive is to die for.

while I really love the WASP doepfer and use it a lot, I have to say I am more of a 24db filter kind of guy. My absolute favorite filter for euro land is the mutable instruments ripples. It maintains a good amount of bass as you increase the resonance and is over all kind of roland sounding. It also...
