Re: Best Drums (and other stuff?) for a Techno rack

Exactly what are you after, since you have a sampler already.. more modulation? With a sampler you are completely unlimited really. The way i set up my Bitbox is I have 60 samples on each grid square, all Roland TR bassdrums, all Linn Drum bassdrums, 60 Nord Drum bassdrums etc.. I modulate between d...

Re: Modules that "Fascinate"?

FLXS1 does sequencing in a very unique way, love it. Fascinating for sure. Marble Physics. takes time to tweak but fun/fascinating PreenFM2, probably the best FM synth ever. Glad to have it in euro Monsoon with Kammerl Beat-Repeat FW Prok Drum with the latest FW, really great and fascinating. Both P...

Re: Prok Drum modules

Anywhere to buy pre-made prok drum modules? Particularly interested in clap/snare.. Do I understand right that it's now possible to switch from say Clap to Snare with this Drum Central software? yes you can change to any of the other modules and also a new mode that doesnt exist on any module relea...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

As expected, really great module. The interface is nice too, it was really great being able to make my own set of effects. I took all the ones that seemed interesting, printed out the "memo", uploaded the FW.. Then i rated the effects from 1-5 and removed the ones i didn't like(/didn't find useful) ...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

I‘m using it to mute/unmute a track at exactly the beginning of the next bar, similar to an LPZW Schleußig (which I don‘t have)... I don‘t want to sample this track because I still want to be able to change it on the go. I really enjoy this because it is very intuitive (makes me want to buy the Sch...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Umm, what's different from sequencing something like normal (if something is on or off).

i'd love to hear how you use it and why, maybe its something i've underestimated.

yes what? midi or trigger, there's a difference. you probably have better luck on the 1010music forum btw, unless someone here really has tested this (doubtful).

Some effects may benefit from higher sample rate, others not. Reverbs do not need high SR, you can play with it to change the reverb brightness.
SR is not saved, it is adjusted via CV input if CV is routed to it (4th led).
Good to know, thanks.

I've never seen that before, and can't say I've noticed if true.
If you haven't tried it / seen it, how are you sure you "haven't noticed"? I would suggest you try it, you might be surprised.

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

I read that the sample rate is something in the 30'ish range, do you all up it to 44 (whatever the highest is).. i don't get why the default is lower than what's possible.. Presumably to allow for longer delays with a finite buffer size? I see. I would still prefer higher sample rate i think. Does ...

Getting mine tomorrow. FedEx is a little slower now than last year when i used Signal Sounds. So which has been your favorite presets? I have two, and one of them has been stuck on Clouds for a while now. Worth the price alone for that one. Cool :) I read that the sample rate is something in the 30...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Clicks and pops at the loop points is just the bitbox not being capable of always slicing it correctly (at "zero crossing", 0db). If you want to slice samples perfectly and get a tight groove, you need to do it manually anyways, and preferably on a computer. But it's pretty quick to do on the bitbox...

Re: Have you ever regretted menus on everything?

My next quest is going to be to get rid of all modules with button combos or LED color modes etc. I hate that 10x more than anything with a screen menu, at least they make sense and i don't need to find the manual or google.. i still can't remember all the stuff on e.g Marbles or Clouds (i have a c...

Re: Have you ever regretted menus on everything?

Every module requires a bit of learning and getting comfortable with so its not a big difference. There might be a slightly higher learning curve for a digital module but many of them I just leave in one state, might change it after 6 months if i'm e.g into something new musically or just need somet...

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4

@godphaser: nope.. one thing that seems odd for me is that the SD card delays have a squarewave'ish sound on B, it's not the original sound.. Pretty useless. I'm sure i read in the manual that the channels are supposed to be stereo. It's like that with all cards i've tried (even the one that doesn't...

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4

Ok. Did another test with the SD card delays. I used quite high clock speed to really stress it (160'ish BPM) sandisk industrial 8gb - glitch (took 4+ mins) lexar 1000x 32gb - glitch (took 3 mins) sandisk ultra 16gb - glitch (within 10 seconds) sandisk 4gb - works (tested for 10+ mins) kind of surpr...

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4

The delay doesn't even use the SD card. I started up without a SD card (by mistake) and the delay works just like before. So it uses internal memory, not the card. If it's glitchy it must be something off with the unit (the onboard memory) i suspect, but i'm not a technician or a programmer. I ended...
