Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

Hehe I might just connect to my neighbors bluetooth speaker that they have completely open and seems to be on almost all the time lol.. that'd be fun. Last year (very early Christmas morning) i connected and played them some Whitehouse. Because who wouldn't want to wake up to this; https://www.youtu...

Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

bwaaaaaapbwaaapbwapbwapbwap bwaaaaaaabwooahhh!!! lol what an amazing creation. imagine some sort of Mister Grassi touchplate combined with a planar joystick with cv control. i'd be so down. That would be a lot of fun indeed. It's also the ultimate prank call synth lol.. I've been tempted a few time...

Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

https://dood.al/pinktrombone/ That speech synth needs to be a eurorack module! A mouse is worthless since it can only interact with one of the many controls at a time, with CV to all of its controls you could produce speech / singing / beat-boxing and very scary/uncanny/comedic human-like noises. It...

I’ve had braids for a long time and love it. For those of you that have had both, which do you prefer and why?
It feels like a very natural evolution of Braids. Sound is a bit better. I still decided to get Braids again though, mainly for the alt firmwares.

Re: How would you complete this small ambient system?

I'd go with FX Aid or using Disting (or the Clouds clone) for delays. FX Aid would be much more versatile than something like Mimeophon or Echophon. I have Mimeophon and find it a bit overrated i must say, its not bad but very expensive for what it is. Echophon i got tired of very quickly, had it fo...

Re: How would you complete this small ambient system?

For tiny systems like this, Disting and Ornament and Crime (the compact version), then you have years of exploration, both sound wise and otherwise. Nowadays i use my Disting as a Wavetable Osc, i think it's really great (and i've owned E352 and NW1 so i do have things to compare it to). Ornament an...

I tried tagging this question onto another thread, but no one responded that is very typical for this forum. ask in a current / official thread, get 0 replies, make a new thread get replies after a few minutes. kind of odd, but i've noticed it since the first month i registered heh and yeah, calibr...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

That's true, and it's cool. But AFAIK it's not possible in 1V/Oct ON mode, only in OFF mode. I need to slightly correct myself above: bitbox maps a 1-5V CV input range to the slices ABSOLUTELY, in steps of 1/12V = 0.08333V of course, not 0.125V. So you'd need 5 octaves to map 60 slices, right, but ...

I’m surprised there hasn’t been an O_C app for this.
Has anyone even suggested it? You'd be surprised how fast these really smart people can work and what they'll do just by mentioning something, but people usually don't.

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

I can select 60 individual slices using Voltage Block. I'm making percussion banks where the first hits are low volume or softer acoustic drum hits, and as it progresses it becomes louder and harder, the last percussion hits are very loudly played or even distorted. The first hit or two are either c...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Press INFO 3 times until you are on the last page. Slice is top right corner. Under that, tap one of the three empty rectangles to assign a modulation source. Thank you, but I understood that. What I don't understand is how to choose a particular slice using an external sequencer. I don't understan...

Re: Using Disting MK4 as a drum machine

Yeah i don't seem to have too much issue with normal sample algos, like dual audio etc... However this is the multisample playback, where a full drum kit can be layed out accross a keyboard in effect. The pitch cv basically selects the samples in the playlist. Is that the one you've used successful...

Re: Using Disting MK4 as a drum machine

Sorry to revive an old thread. I hope its the right action... Did anyone get this mode working successfully as a drum sample player? I'm trying it with one of the sequencers on my beatstep pro, and i'm getting output, but the sample selection seems to not keep up with the triggger, so the first hit...

I like Marbles because you can go from completely random/chaos to controlled random - connect your sequence, get a closely related sequence which you can change in numerous ways.

Re: Most unique digital VCO you've heard?

I'm just showing up to say that the Klavis Twin Waves is IMO the best (and most flexible) digital oscillator(s) on the market right now. Still. (IMO, etc. etc.) When you factor in cost and HP, I think it's truly unbeatable. It's quite good, had it for a while, though not as good as Braids i think. ...

Re: Malekko Varigate 8+

my thought was that the hardware "failure" could be mitigate via software. I guess the tempo is not set via the poti in an analog way. thus could be mitigated? Like mentioned in the earlier post, perhaps we could get fixed tempos. it does seem to behave in an analog way, but i don't know the techni...

Re: Malekko Varigate 8+

Right! That would be a way to potentially fix it, and via FW. Good thinking.

Because you'd think if the module itself is really super unstable it would be awful as Slave too, but its not due to it fixating the tempo.

Re: How do you organize modules?

i prefer to have my mixers and effects on the lower right most side because that's the closest to where their outputs will go (to my sound interface). I do this too, but I think it might be a mistake. For some reason we place more importance on certain cables than others. There's usually two cables...

Re: Malekko Varigate 8+

Did you notice that if you up the tempo to max (340) it's quite stable there? Same if you go to lowest tempo (20). Is that perhaps an indication that the little BPM tuning knob is the thing which is drifting perhaps..? In the middle and there around it has more ways of moving than when pushed to it...
