Patching signals into a powered-down module is unwise.
very good post. i bet this is extremely common too.. should be in a stickied post. haven't seen it mentioned in the 6 years i've been here.

Re: Qu-Bit Data Bender

Played around with it for a little over an hour, it's quite fun. What i like the most is how nicely it spreads out the audio in stereo, works really nicely for drums. It feels much more random than Monsoon, probably due to the much longer recording time. Monsoon is a bit similar but it can't do the ...

Re: Best sounding sampler in eurorack?

Would be extremely interesting to hear a comparison with a few samples (48KHz, 24bit) on a Bitbox and then on the Assimil8r to see if it's possible to hear a difference.

And yes I know that sampling goes beyond this, and that Assimil8r can use even higher quality..

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

I'm always attenuating the signal before i go into the FX AID. If you don't want to waste a vca or other modules for it, I suggest getting stuff like this: https://koma-elektronik.com/?product=koma-5-pack-attenuator-cable A few of these could be useful indeed, would prefer it over "wasting" modules...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

I've noticed Wavetable VCO from Disting mk4 into FX Aid completely distorts the sound.

Could there be a way for users to lower the input gain of FX Aid on the module itself? If not possible via button presses instead via the .wav updating process?

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Really hard to update the module heh, i tried first from my phone, but if the cable is in, then the process will fail directly.. Took me ages to even understand that it had failed because i thought the 2 blinking lights on the opposite sides meant it was waiting for the signal. The page says "inner ...

Re: Passive, external mixer to lower hot euro signal?

No idea what it is https://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/transformer/audio-transformer.html Many people use a DI box , passive ones are basically a step down transformer boxed up. Transformers have really nice, somewhat subtle sonic properties that some engineers claim help things cut through or gel...

You can leave slots blank, but you still have to scroll all the way through at the end. I’d just put my favorites up front and go back and forth between them.
ok. i hope it's easy for Igor to make it so that it just goes back to 1.. not a biggie i guess.

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

If i only want to have let's say 3 effects on one of my FX AIDs, is that possible? It'll just scroll to number 3 and then back to 1 so that it's not really possible to get lost into empty or silent presets? If not that would be a request.. and yes, i do understand that i can add the same 3 over and ...

Re: Passive, external mixer to lower hot euro signal?

You could run it through a step down transformer No idea what it is, where to get, how to use or create. I use this: http://ladik.ladik.eu/?page_id=1152 It's cheap and it's passive so you could keep it outside your case. Thanks, that looks good and i like Ladik.. i have a super small case which i'v...

Any suggestion for something external to use to just lower the hot signal coming from eurorack to my Tascam audio interface?

Thanks!

Re: Disapointing Modules

Plaits is pretty great as a drum module, tons of flavors, every sound on it is a cool drum voice with an env into pitch and some other inputs. I use it way more than 4MS ENSOSC which is a much harder module to incorporate into the music i think. ENSOSC is one of those modules which i will tweak fore...

Disting Mk4, cheap, 4HP only, many uses apart from recording. Depends i guess. I use all my samplers with a PC to do all the editing, it's just not possible on a module if you're gonna edit thousands of samples. There are also modules that are made specifically for CV recording / chopping. I used to...

How musical do you find it? For example when it comes to loudness, do you sometimes get unexpectedly loud ratching or other unexpected overly loud sounds? This is something i don't always like with Kammerl Beat-Repeat on my Monsoon when heavily modulating some inputs, the Freez was like that too, ne...

Re: Do you use only Eurorack or a mix?

I don't think you necessarily need to know everything in and out to be able to use it in a musical context. I just learn the aspects I want to learn, and whatever I stumble over. Most synths or modules have a lot of features I'm not necessarily all that interested in, anyway. It totally depends. A ...
