Re: Korg ARP 2600 availability

Picked up mine Feb 6th and am really impressed with it...God knows where I'll store the flight case, but hey, that's the least of my worries.' On the point of sync for the Sequencer/Arpeggiator...given that they are both clock dto the LFPO not he 3620, there must surely be some "simple" way of acces...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Eurorack compatibility

Just received my 2600 this week :yay: I'm planning to sequence it from my Doepfer A155 and I'm figuring that I run the triggers/gates via a couple of A183-3 amplifiers to get up to the 10V required. Also understand that the 2600 requires both trigger and gate for the ADSR/AR to fire, andthe S/H Gate...

Thanks for all the help! It’s great to have this type of advice and support , especially as I’m essentially self-taught and rely on the good folks here at Muffs when things spiral away from my limited pool of knowledge. I try to treat these challenges as a learning experience And is to the good news...

Following a signal path - troubleshooting

I'm trying to debug an AMS 8109 filter that I've just built...[yes, I can bug Rob Keeble, but before I do that I'd rather try and solve it myself - more of a learning experience for me] I've got the schematic and I think have mapped out the signal flow from jack, across to the input 1 level pot, ove...

I buy nothing on ebay any more unless I can find absolutely no other source, and if it's something that ought to be expensive, not even then. 311's are not expensive, but like original SSM/CEM chips and such, would not touch ebay for the world. Not to mention a lot of those are getting re-manufactu...

Fixed an issue with my 8109 build...I'd put the electrolytic caps in the wrong way round (note - square pad is negative, and I'd not noticed the +ve marker by the round holes..doh!)

Update..

All sorted...the new 311 ICs did the job. I must have picked up a bad batch (ie fakes)...let that be a lesson for anyone thinking of buying from eBay if they can't find the chips on Tayda, Mouser or Farnell.

4. Saw output steady +7.6V,across all 3 outputs (ie flat line) This means you're right, the comparator section isn't working. The cap charges up, but never gets reset. I would suggest you find an alternate source of 311 chips..... This makes sense...at least to a novice like me...thanks for the exp...

By the way, this isn't the build thread for the R*S version, this one is for a different flavor of LVCOs. The actual R*S thread is at - https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=150988 - but it seems this one is working for you. Yeah - sorry... I went for the thread that has [BUILD] in the ...

Latest update: I pulled all of the ICs from the VCO section and measured the pin header voltage...perfect +12 V / -12V So i started re-introducing the ICs one at a time and measuring... All the OPAs - fine. Voltage is good at the header +/- 12V The problem seems to be with the 311P chips I have - I ...

Attached is a pic of the board. Not the prettiest I know... if a higher res is needed, I can dig out my Nikkor 105 macro and send a monster file... 1. Yes, I have a scope 2. I have a working LVCO to compare voltages, components etc and that helped me spot 2 ceramics that were wrongly positioned in t...

AM8320 panel - any new stock soon ?

I want to build the 8320 prophet filter but would also need the panel. The website says that CAD drawings can be downloaded, but they don't seem to exist anywhere that I can find.

Any chance there will be new stock of these, or is not where to get a copy of the CAD file ?

I built one of these fantastic filters 18 months ago but have had an issue with output dying after a short time of operation. Turn on my system, patch and send sequence to the filter..all hunky dory...but after 10-15 min (I'm suspecting as the system warms up), the output distorts and eventually fad...

Yes you can. 064 is the low power version of the 074. Thanks Alain for the quick reply. In the end I changed out the transistor Q1 for a BC547 and reduced R3 to 2.1k, and that seems to have done the trick. For info - the module is a first edition board (rev 1) 1996 build, so I guess something somew...

I've got an A-118 that has also stopped working. Not sure if it's the transistor (BC549) or the IC TL064CN I don't have any 064 ICs , only 074 and 084. I'm not an expert on ICs, but looking at the specs, seems as if I could sub a TL074CN for the 064CN (or am I missing something ?) Any suggestions ? ...
