Re: MOTOR SYNTH

wow... this is very good to know about the motor noise. Pretty much sounds like a dealbreaker (internal sigh of relief, one less synth to think about :D) Personally, I'm extremely happy to have bought this "synth". I think that this is one of the most unique electronic instruments I have ever exper...

Re: MOTOR SYNTH

Curious to hear how other people will respond to the motor noise. Maybe my ears are too sensitive and I've spent too much time at the dentist... I had only 10 minutes time to play it, but boy, this is some really weird instrument. The sound is really great. Even in my headphones, it produces a very...

Re: Avoid Mac Mini 2018/20 if using Ableton! (Solution added)

I’d go this route over the current iMacs , but if you find yourself where I am and can cope with going back to windows and the driver and update hassles , then I’d personally recommend doing that , you’ll probably end up with a much more powerful machine these days, even with macs clever optimisati...

It appears that the MD gives a little more flexibility in sound design. This is a contender for the understatement of the year  One example : the Machinedrum has one LFO per track (that makes 16 LFO's total), which can all be assigned to one single track (and sound), if you want to. The Octat...

I went from Ableton 9 to Bitwig 2.0 about 1.5 years ago. Last month, I upgraded Ableton to version 10 to work on my older projects. It was like going a few years back in time compared to bitwig 2.5. I'm not even speaking about Bitwig 2.6 beta or the upcoming Bitwig 3.0. In my opinion, Ableton is old...

I have an iMac from 2011 and needed a new audio interface. I first went for two Presonus Quantum Thunderbolt audiointerfaces. It was incredibly unstable : I lost the Thunderbolt connection every few minutes. Whatever I tried, I never got it working properly. Then I remembered the amount of "good new...

Exactly one year ago, I switched from Ableton to Bitwig.
Conclusions :
- Not once, I considered going back to Ableton
- What I still miss : midi chasing and track freezing (the way it is done in Reaper)

You pay and get every major release for 12 months. Every user always get bug fixes patches for free on the curreny version they have (2.3.x) or whatever. So if your upgrade plan expires while they are on 2.5 for example you still get all the 2.5.x fix patches for free but youll need to upgrade for ...

I switched from Ableton to Bitwig about 8 months ago.
I have not regretted it for one second.
And it is getting even better at an amazing pace.

My 3 favorites in this update :
- Sampler overhaul
- New modulators: ParSeq-8, Note Counter
- Resizable tracks in Mix view

I'm still on the fence as I understand there is no kind of auto-save? Live saves the undo history so that it can reconstruct your project in the event of a crash which has saved me a few times. If Bitwig really crashes completely, it proposes to open your last project again just before the point it...

I bought bitwig 1 primarily because it's cheaper than ableton and I didn't want to use cracked software. Ableton is more polished still though so I'm having a hard time sticking with bitwig. Eg there wasn't sidechaining capabilities directly only the modulation features (which did work.) I'm not su...

I have both. Im mainly using Live . While bitwig is extremely cool and tbh i would switch to Biitwig immediately if it werent for one little feature i cannot live without. Thats the track delay on each channel in live. They now introduced a time shift utility in Bitwig but is to complicated for me....

But still no Audiounit support. :( When I switched to Bitwig, I thought I would miss the AU support. It turned out I did not. Every "serious" plugin has a VST version and the VST format seems more flexible than the AU format. What I still miss though, is the "freeze" functionality, preferably the w...

To give some examples of differences : - The Slim Phatty has two OSC - The Sub Phatty has an extra SUB-OSC (hence the name) - The Subsequent has a lot more modulation possibilities, the overdrive is different, etc. - The Minitaur is focused on bass (the bass sounds even more massive) So every Moog, ...

I (will) also like the update. Groups within groups is the biggest for me. Vertical zoom is also great. :nana: Those are also two great features... I can't remember how many times I've wanted a group within a group. Are there any other DAWs that do this? Bitwig and Reaper spring to mind. Both can g...
