Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

I've never heard of that before ... I have one of those MXL990 mics (w/shock mount), had it for years. Thanks for the exposure, I've gone to the Microphone-Parts website ... lots to see .. thanks again!!! LINK: https://microphone-parts.com/pages/mxl-990-mods :tu: I went with the RK47 capsule which ...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

I haven't posted in a while but I did build a few things this year. Modded Danelectro Spring King, to add pots for the PT2399 inside. Adds a lot to an already nice sounding pedal. https://www.3amnoise.net/euro_pics/spring_king_mod2.jpg Installed Mic-Parts capsule and circuit into an MXL 990 condenso...

Re: Module Recommendations for Clicky Percussion

I literally just patch gate outputs from my sequencer into the audio path, for this kind of sound. When the gate goes high, you will get a click and when it goes low, you will get another click. The gate will eat up headroom in DC coupled audio circuits, so it can make your LPFs and such do weird th...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Just got a EHX Super Pulsar ... In my experience, satisfying or interesting tremolos are difficult to obtain in synths using on-board LFOs routed to VCA level or individual OSC levels. The Super Pulsar is loaded with functionalities and features. :) I love the Super Pulsar. Great for rhythmic gatin...

Re: uHe goes Eurorack?

Yes, I had to make the file for mine, too. Just copy the ini text from the user guide and name the file CVZ.ini
Make sure that you are able to view file extensions on your computer, just in case the text editor adds a file extension, like CVZ.ini.txt or whatever.

Re: Desktop & 5U Infernal Noise Machine

Oh wow, I didn't realize you were going to do another run of stand alone units. I planned to put my INM-E and expander in their own little skiff case. I definitely want the euro version but may consider the stand alone as well. Will the stand alone version have all the same patch points as the euro ...

Re: uHe goes Eurorack?

I've only been using CVz for a short time but it's already been an eye opener. It packs the functionality of a lot of different modules into a small space but it's easy to use and unlike a lot of multi-function modules I've used it doesn't insist on being used in a specific way. Last night I made a ...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

Great track justin3am! In the first part is the spring reverb from the 2600 or the EF-X2 (or both)? I am excited about this delay for a number of reasons and especially the ability to use cv or a pedal to modulate the speed and feedback aspects. I could be projecting but it sounds as if you guys we...

I'm having so much fun again, and I recently joined a band that seems to appreciate the noises I make. Thanks! I'm not worried. I'll poke around with my multi-meter and scope as soon as I have time. It's probably something silly.
I'm super stoked, though. It looks beautiful and all of the controls feel great!. I pre-ordered a Korg/Arp 2600 and I can't wait to use them together!

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread

Finished building this over the weekend. https://www.3amnoise.net/euro_pics/1601_clone-01.jpg Just need to finish calibrating but it seems to be mostly working. Unfortunately the 'Clock Freq' slider doesn't work (LED doesn't light and the slider doesn't change the clock rate) and I'm not sure why. I...
