it looks like it just evens the playing field for some of us that are less fortunate. Key phrase in your words is "looks like" Just like little league "looks like" professional baseball. The two games are played on different fields entirely. Your Behringer playing field has 60 foot base paths and a...

I can't say much. There is more than one full size and a smaller one too. Compared to the Korg 2600FS, they include the typical upgrades many OG 2600 users -and TTSH builders- add to their synths. Like Sync, and EG range Sw. There is -much- more but can't be shared yet.

Hello, does anyone know where to find the old independent Roland D-50 reference material known as "Roland D50 Creative Book"? I used to have it a couple of computers ago but unfortunately it was lost. The link on CultofD50s website is broken and I can't seem to find this wonderful guide anywhere no...

Updating components in old digital gear?

Given improvements to semiconductor technology over the years, is it safe to assume that there is a better-performing part for all the linear devices in old digital effects? Not that i want to exclude analog gear, but i expect that there is an entire new dimension of argument in that category as to ...

Re: Place to order boxes in the usa for shipping synths

Long folds along the corrugation axis are easy. The tough part are the folds across the corugations. Trick to that is compression. Get a 1/4" steel rod from the DIY store, and lay it along the line ytou want to bend. Tape it in place at each end with two strips of masking tape. Then using a piece o...

On a limited budget, there is absolutely no point in resisting the Boog. It pretty much nails the Minimoog. On an unlimited budget, you don't want the Minimoog, you want the modular and six months of vacay to explore it :miley: Or, i should say, you want the Mini, the modular, and unlimited vacation...

Re: Behringer UB-Xa

Why designers don't opt for more than 4 or 6 voices? Actual voices cost money, seeing the synth community's reluctance to spend money they've probably figured they've no chance of selling an 8 voice VCO poly :) I dunno how folks get by with 4 or 6 voices, i don't play well enough to get by with tha...

Re: Behringer UB-Xa

Given the Poly_D and the MonoPoly (which are essentially monos w/o preset storage) are both priced at $700 I can't see how they can produce a full 8 voice programmeable poly (with 5 octave keybed) for only $300 more. Just have to wait and see... I would think it's possible, given that most of the o...

My pick over those two would definitely be the Monotribe, since it is so immediate and tactile with the synth controls and ribbon.
