Re: Blacet pot upgrade? (2100, Miniwave, Super VCA)

I had quite a few scratchy pots a few years ago, and spent an afternoon lubricating all of them, following the instructions on Blacet's website. It worked, completely. I would recommend trying it out!

Re: 3.5mm cables for Wiard 300 + Eurorack

Any cable that can be used with eurorack should be able to be used with Wiard 300 and 1200 modules. I have a small number of tiptop stack cables which work fine. I found that I preferred to use floating mults, personally though, so I never bought anymore. I have recently got some braided cables from...

Just over 24cm. NB that you will need a couple of cm more to accommodate the power plugs.

Aye, I never got mine either, and got no refund. Got blocked from posting on his yahoo group too. Such a long time ago now! I can't believe how many years have passed. No slam on those who got theirs ofc.

Re: RIP Dave Greenfield

I saw New Order a couple of times back in the day, once on the tour for "low life" at Sunderland Mecca and once sometime after that at Newcastle Mayfair. Both times they fucking rocked! I guess I must have been lucky. I also, around that time, saw Blue Oyster Cult and Johnny Thunders, both notorious...

There's been a few mentions in this thread of using two phasers as a stereo pair. Anyone who's experimented with this care to comment? I like the idea for string synths and pads, and have return channels on my mixer free. Some years ago I built 5 x JH "Krautrock Phaser" pedals, and tried this, IE I...

Re: "Get lost in the sounds of YouTube’s growing ambient modular synth community"

some people aren't trying to make something "original" or "new" or engaging. IDGAF about "new" or "original" but why would anyone try to make something that is not engaging? IDGI. I see a lot of half-assed stuff, sometimes barely even that, more like quarter-assed! It's frustrating when you hear so...

Never thought that the prophet 600 was all that special? I mean it was okay, but....

Seems like a weird choice for a new clone.

Re: Blacet pot upgrade? (2100, Miniwave, Super VCA)

I bought my first 2 Blacet kits in 1999 (maybe even 1998) and built up the set of modules I have piecemeal since then. A few years ago I relubricated all of the pots in my Blacet modules with WD-40 following the instructions on Blacet's website. Every one of the pots still works 100% after a lot of ...

LMAFOO@that frames unboxing video, all it needed was an ASMR girl whispering annoyingly over the top of it. Or maybe the uploader's girlfriend shoving it all out of the way because she needs the space to film her latest clothes haul video.

live performance w/Wiard/Blacet/MI

A live, mainly improvised new-age-ish/cosmic performance I did a couple of months ago in Rugeley, Staffordshire, UK - Wiard and Blacet modular synthesizers, couple of Mutable Instruments modules, Roland JDXi (the Popol Vuh-ish choir sound) Casio MT41 (was tempted to drop "Sleng Teng Rhythm" halfway ...
