@Drillionaire Considering who told me, I'll stand on my comment. But I'll say no more in this thread about it. As someone who helps manages Buchla IP, I'll trust myself over you. Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?

That's a bit of a weak argument, though. Buying an 'unpopular' manufacturer's gear from anywhere still creates / supports the market for their products. I didn’t say it was a good argument I meant it was the only reason I would personally ever pay anywhere near market price for a used piece of gear...

Re: MARF 248r source code available

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation! If I don’t sell my Rev1 I might take a look at the code. Do you have the expander as well. My revision 1 work's with the expander where rev 2 never did until this team started working on the code. I have a revision 2 beeing built but have every intention of ...

With these new features does that mean the rev1 is essentially not being supported by further developments?

Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?

The only scenario that comes to mind is buying a piece of gear secondhand made by a company you don’t want to support directly. I’ve seen that argument made for purchasing used gear from morally bankrupt companies.

Re: Landscape o/o and Easel anyone?

I wouldn’t have super high hopes as most of the inputs on the easel are sinking current, not voltage, so it’s likely you would have more mild results than eurorack. You can try with banana cables and you’ll likely get the exact same result, in case you want to try it first.

288mA 5v, 358mA 15v, 278mA -15v. This is assuming BUSA 208 power draw.

Re: 223e erratic behaviour in Easel case with papz power

Sounds like the 5v rail is going into thermal protection. Can you check the voltage present on the power rails when this issue occurs?

Re: MARF 248 clones - any Output expanders coming?

Ah that’s a shame. Would have been nice to keep the original look and multiple function ideas intact. So the new ones are maximum ‘dual arbitrary function generators’? Something left for future function cloners! In future renditions, the output sections coupd also benefit from being reduced in widt...

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

I went with the implementation I did so as to retain as much immediately accessible flexibility as possible while also avoiding as many hidden settings as possible. Routing the MIDI clock via CCs (or even worse, SysEx) would have been obtuse, to put it kindly. Alternately, using up a physical jack t...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

I finally finished the last of my DIY backlog and it was a bit of a doozy. how hard was it to calibrate? Took about 30-45 minutes. I used my phone as a function generator to output a sinewave that I could type in the frequency of to match each of the 3 filter frequencies. Dave Brown describes a ver...

Re: 259e Pitch CV input question

When I hold the sync button for a few seconds, it just adds the warp to the modulation menu... That's the indication that the NVRAM FM/CV knob/jack calibration has taken place. If you listen to the outputs while that is happening you will notice a silence happening just before the warp light comes ...
