Re: Buchla System purchase 2020?

While I really don't like having blank panels in my case, I second the suggestion of starting small and growing from there. Get a 12wls case with these modules: - 261e - 281e - 292e - 266e That's phase 1. It's ok to not have presets at the beginning. Just explore those modules as much as you can. R...

I have a variation of the sing-to-me, no ring mod and a full dusg, and I'd suggest spending some time exploring the panel then adding a TKB. Play with these for a year, give or take, and you'll know what you're missing. There's no downside to expanding slowly.

Do you have a mixer? I use guitar pedals with the aux send(s)/ return(s) of an AH ZED14.

Recently arrived BB-258 sequenced by Bugbrand Seq1 http://soundcloud.com/fredguy-1/lwbb2 Cool! Could you draw your patch Timoka stylee? I don’t have a patch sheet since I swapped the ring mod and dtg for a dusg. That said here’s a photo. Blue bananas are from the Seq1. Yellow and purple are the out...

I too was addicted. I started out with 84u.... Chasing the dragon. I ended up with 600u+. Can't remember the final total. I got off the horse by hitting the bugbrand lottery. Sold all my euro and slowly built a system. Withdrawal from the euro was difficult. Shiny new modules were a constant distrac...

Bugbrand makes it easy for beginners with color coded jacks.

I got my kids patching as toddlers with the following:

Red goes to blue or yellow.
Green goes to yellow or blue.
Make sure at least one green goes to a mixer.

Slowly exploring, so many sounds. Decided to hit record on this patch. 259e, 266e, 281e and 292e through the 206e. A little space reverb.

After much reading and debating I decided on:

206e
223e
251e
256e
259e
261e
266e
281e
291e
292e

Turns out to be the same modules used in the Todd Barton Skylab tutorial.

Thanks for the discussion.

I'm leaning 257e, 266e and 291e to round out the case.

Definitely looking at some of the Keen modules for future purchases.

Thanks for the replies. As to the music I make it varies. I often use the modular for evening meditation. Sometimes its beat oriented, sometimes drones. I often leave the same basic patch in for week(s) recording occasionally and the 200e would let me save some of the ideas for future investigation....

Starting with 200e

Long time Bugbrand user looking to put together a Skylab or maybe a 15u (12u+3u for 223e) 200e system. My goal is a small performance oriented system and I'm intrigued by the Multi-Dimensional Kinesthetic Input controller and see the benefits of the 200e's patch storage. I've read through all the Bu...

I had to look up mpingo disks. It's like Brilliant Pebbles! Now I know. Investing now... Once the mpingo disks have been fully appreciated you may be ready to move into the world of Joly speakers. The differences are not subtle.

Kind of like mpingo disks, only the true audiophile will understand the auditory potential.

Enzo arrived today. Amazing tracking in mono mode with a strat. I was able to get it a little confused with fast runs but clean playing with palm muting was gold. It also tracked slides and bends much better than expected. Stoked to try it with a lap steel. Poly and arp modes haven't provided the sa...
